I love Yu-gi-oh. I love the anime, the characters, the music. And this game, I would say, is an accurate love letter to the franchise. From the detailed and vivid summoning animations, to the lively monster companions cheering on your every victory, the game is full of character and charisma.

However, it is a sweat fest like no other. Yes, I get it it's a competitive game, people want to win. But what makes yu-gi-oh special is the fact that your deck is an extension of yourself. The deck you play reflects you and your personality. The fun in yu-gi-oh comes from reenacting your favorite anime protagonists, drawing an out that turns the flow of the game in your favor, summoning a menacing cool looking boss monster that strikes fear, building a deck that follows an unorthodox playing style. Sadly though, as soon as you search for a match you are greeted with the same meta 0 decks. Yesterday I played 10 games, 6 of them were against snake-eye fire king, 3 of them were snake-eye fiendsmith and the last one was a fiendsmith yubel deck. This is like watching your favorite comedian have a historic fall off after failing to come up with new material. Even when you run a somewhat meta countering deck with negates, handtraps and board wipes, these decks don't care if you have 10 million ways to stop them, they will find a way to set up a board through ridiculous recursion. The only real way to beat them is for you to play the same deck and be lucky enough to go first to set up a board. There is no thought behind it anymore, it's just "me have better card, me won the coin toss, you lose", there are no back and forth's, there is no counter play, there is no grind game.

I'm still giving this a recommend because I am biased. Yu-gi-oh is goated, it will always be a genre redefining medium, with a recognizable style crafted by the late Kazuki Takahashi, with an inspiring story that satisfies child wonder and curiosity, while also holding rewatchability and timelessness to bring back the adults for another nostalgia trip.

Anyway make the game less sweaty. Ciao!

I am heartbroken.
I am devastated.
I am discombobulated.

I need a cigarette and hard liquor.

This remake is pretty short. Five to six hours to finish. Which will leave you wanting more. It also saddens me that Carlos probably won't ever appear in a RE game again. I liked the dude, and his redesign is fire. Also Nemesis, the big bad guy of this installment, is rather easy to deal with using Jill's dodging mechanics. They should've made him more unpredictable. The boss fights involving him are also decently easy and not that challenging.
But yeah all in all, the feel of the game is nice. The look of the game is nice. The main characters are dope. Enjoyable game.
Be sure to buy in on sale tho, the normal price tag is a bit too much for what you're getting.

A full priced game, adds micro transactions, adds battle passes and gives mod creators the middle finger?
What are you doing namco? Your new updates have been very anti-consumer. You kept your intentions hidden until after everyone bought the game, knowing full well that if you said what you were planing from day one your sales would flop. Fix your game.

Can someone make a mod that plays "Hey Daddy" by Usher every time Leon saves Ashley?
And when I walk in, all that I wanna hear is you say:
DADDY'S HOME, HOME FOR MEEEEEE
And I know you've been waiting for this lovin' all day
Please and thank you.
