As an avid player of War Thunder, it pains me to admit that the game I once held great hope for has become a shadow of its former self. What was once a promising and immersive experience has now devolved into a grind fest, laden with an overwhelming sense of disrespect from its developers.

When I first ventured into the world of War Thunder, I was captivated by its historical accuracy, impressive visuals, and diverse range of vehicles. The game had a solid foundation, with a promising blend of arcade and realistic gameplay modes. However, over time, the development focus seemed to shift away from enhancing player enjoyment and towards extracting every ounce of grind possible.

The progression system in War Thunder has become a source of frustration rather than a rewarding journey. The extensive and seemingly endless grind required to unlock new vehicles and upgrades is nothing short of exasperating. It often feels like an insurmountable task to progress without dedicating an excessive amount of time or resorting to microtransactions. It's disheartening to see gameplay time extended artificially through mind-numbing repetition instead of providing genuinely engaging challenges.

Perhaps even more disconcerting is the lack of respect shown by the developers towards the player community. Feedback and concerns raised by the player base often go unheeded, leaving a sense of abandonment and indifference. The forums and communication channels, which should foster a healthy dialogue between developers and players, have devolved into echo chambers of discontent. The growing disconnect between the developers and the community has eroded the trust and enthusiasm that once surrounded the game.

It is worth noting that War Thunder still has its moments of excitement and can provide fleeting enjoyment. The mechanics of aerial dogfights and tank battles remain engaging, and the graphics continue to impress. However, these bright spots are overshadowed by the grinding mechanics and the lack of responsiveness from the development team.

In conclusion, War Thunder started with tremendous potential but has succumbed to a frustratingly grindy progression system and a sense of disregard from its developers. While there are still moments of enjoyment to be found, they are marred by the feeling that the game's development has lost its way. It's a disheartening decline for a game that once promised so much.
