I mean... it's Overwatch 2. There's no difference from this to the Battle.net version. It's still a complicated mess with a lot of flashing colors and hard to follow team fights. The game can be very fun with friends or in the lower ranks, but the higher you'll go, it's human nature that your teammates will flame and spew toxicity to drown out their own failures.

If you're wondering if you should play this game, I'd say no. On Steam, there's way better class shooters (even Team Fortress 2, with it's non-existent developer support is more fun) on the market to waste your time in OW2. But then again, it is free... right?

The biggest reason for all the negative reviews is the awful monetization. Overwatch 1 was perfect in its own way, having free lootboxes every level up, meaning you can get all the rewards for free. When they saw sales going down, they rebranded as Overwatch 2 and added battle passes, awful bundles, and removed all the goodies you got for free, and in exchange the game is now free to play, making the smurfing issue even more rampant. And that's not to forget about the lies about a story mode, Blizzard Activision's dodgy practices, the sexual harassment lawsuits, etc.

In the end, I'll probably still play from time to time, but it has fallen from its grace, heavily. I'd heavily recommend against it as trying to keep up with metas and the battle pass can feel like a second job, and if you don't have a first job, you should worry about that first.

As someone who really enjoys idle/clicker games ever since Cookie Clicker released, Pacifish came up when I thought it was time to play a new idle game, and I'm really glad I did. Pacifish is different, it doesn't have a "rebirth" system, it's not going to make you have to use an auto-clicker, has no dark evil twist in its story, and has an actual ending! It's a fun little game you can spend a week on it, maybe buy the DLC to help the devs, and then move on with your life. Hoping to see more of these types of idle games.
