This is an excellent use of $1 and 5hrs.
Levels are satisfying in both a time-trial way, where you plot a course through the level to sprint from one stab-victim-in-waiting to the next like some sort of ♥♥♥♥♥ up batman, and in an improvisational way when you take a wrong turn and have to pick your victims on the fly.
Soundtrack is cozy, minimalist style works well
Parkour challenges are unfun while you'd doing them, but... I did end up using some of the parkour in the good parts of the game, and they didn't take very long... so mixed feelings about that I guess.

Fake puzzle game. The solution is just "always interact with the next thing they make available"
Pretty/relaxing and all, but stop dressing up walking simulators with illusory decisions and calling it a puzzle

This game was kinda cool, but mechanically it was a bit too annoying for me to recommend. Maybe if you like the sequels and want to come back to this one for context, it's worth struggling through it.

Worth playing if you like the setting at all. Good overall cast, story, and variety of content/playstyles.

Surprisingly funny writing, reasonably good gameplay with some nice gun/buff variety.

Gameplay's kind of janky, art's kind of offputting, music's kind of meh, writing's bland. No one thing completely sinks it, but there's nothing exciting enough for me to want to recommend it.

A good game that in a lot of ways doesn't live up to its predecessor. The things vermintide 2 did better are well-documented in the negative reviews here, and you might want to go play that instead.

But, if you want to shoot heretics in space, this game is fun. And it's greatly improved over what it was like in the beta and early release days. They've been consistently improving stability and adding the stuff they had promised prior to release. A bit late... but the game in its current state is worth recommending, IMO.
