The most unique, engaging, and interesting shooter of this era. The in depth destruction has never been so good in a video game, it leads to creative thinking, crazy plays, and just awesome moments. Most of the weapons feel great, and I think you could make nearly any one of them feel op, while not actually being op. My one big gripe with the game is that it's laden with AI voice acting that is soulless, monotone, and just plain sounds bad. Which is a shame because, artistically, the game has shown an extreme amount of quality in everything else.

It's actually amazing. Literally everyone is being so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ whiny because the game is not a clone of Path of Exile 1.

Soulless overwatch clone. A lot of the map layouts feel like they were lifted straight from overwatch, they just don't play very differently. Very few new ideas. Art style is *really* generic, I have a hard time thinking marvel fans will like most of the designs. Third-person, because first-person animations are hard. Game feels like it was made to sell skins first, gameplay second. Terrible optimization, game cannot run well without upscaling tech. Frame gen implementation is horrible, 100fps felt really choppy, and that's despite the fact that the game looks and feels like a mobile port.

I wish steam had a mixed option. It's worth playing for a few dozen hours. I had a great time for my first 40 hours, but every hour after felt like chasing the high I had in my first matches. The game just feels stale, I come back after months of updates, but it still feels same old, same old. The new faction they just added was riddled with bugs, and problems. Missing textures, giant purple question marks, enemies floating through obstacles, and clipping through the floor. Even when everything was not completely broken the action just felt stilted, and off-kilter. I don't ever feel like I'm cooperating with my team more so that we just happen to be around each other. There are still balance problems, and a lot of problems that used to be fixed feel like they came back in full force with the illuminates. Most weapons feels hilariously ineffective, and shotguns feel like the only viable options... again... meaning most of the roster is a no go for the new faction. The autocannon feels like the only effective support stratagem, prolly the railgun too once again. Meanwhile the commando, airburst rocket, all the machine gun supports, and many others get sidelined. My problem is not that the autocannon or railgun, or shotguns are overpowered, just that they feel like the only options to keep the enemy at bay. Higher difficulties just feels frustrating to play, unfortunately you are forced to play them if you want to unlock final upgrades. I wish I could pinpoint exactly my problem with the game, but it just feels like a mess. Even after coming back from a break the game is just not fun. Something I don't feel is true of Deep Rock Galactic despite being fairly similar in concept.

Underneath all the jank (and this is a very janky vr game), is a fantastic VR, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. like, horror experience. The first few hours are painful, being stuck with a punitive PM, and little money, makes it a difficult start to get excited with. However, give it some time and it grows into a much more satisfying game.

Pretty good FPS Beat 'em up mash up but its NOT a boomer shooter so don't go into this game with that expectation. Especially since its coming from New Blood you might think its going to be similar to Dusk or Amid Evil and it will not be. This game is more akin to Devil May Cry than DOOM Eternal so if you go into this while thinking you're gonna get an experience like DOOM, you're not and its going to disappoint you, but if you like racking up style and points a la Devil May Cry, then this game is definitely for you.

This DLC is great, but I feel like doubling down on the horror elements and having stealth sections was a huge miss step. It got to the point where I no longer wanted to continue due to fear, and frustration, to the point that I had to look up minor spoilers to continue, which is disappointing. I admit that I am not good when it comes to horror but I don't play these games typically for the horror so I think its fair to criticize this for having too much of it, I think the base game handled it far better. The story is amazing, and there are a lot of areas worth exploring and figuring out. There were bigger click moments in this dlc than in the base game for me, especially the questions that were left unanswered the base game that are answered here. There is a problem that I have with both the base game and the dlc that I will mark with spoilers because it pertains to the endings. I do not like that the ending of this dlc changes practically nothing about the base game ending, in the same way that the base game ending is disappointing because you don't get to save anything, just start a new universe. I think there are a lot who will disagree with me on this and I understand that but it makes my actions in the game and interacting with the characters, ESPECIALLY the Prisoner in this case, feel meaningless/weak because ultimately their fate does not change from your actions. I think the endings themselves are fine and are even very touching, very much including the dlc it was very sweet. I loved the part where you share your knowledge with the Prisoner. I think this dlc is about an 8.5/10 for me. Maybe an 8/10 if I'm sour, I really really did not like the stealth sections.

This is one of those games that starts slow and grows on you over time. At first I took it in little chunks and eventually I got encased in the mystery and wanting to solve it. The game is very sweet, but can be a little spooky sometimes. I'm skittish when it comes to horror and I wouldn't describe this game as scary, but just a little unsettling, just enough to be enjoyable imo. The dlc is more horror based and personally I find it too much to enjoy fully, its still a good dlc especially for the story. However, if you're considering buying a journey into the outer wilds I would certainly say its worth it.
