Just an excellent, excellent game. Learn by making mistakes, play for as little or as long as you like. Curse up a storm when your favourite lil' guy or gal gets blown up by your, in hindsight, completely avoidable mistake.

Nominated Sonic Mania for the Steam Awards 2018 "The 'Soul Of Vitruvius' Award", as this version of Sonic certainly is the most lovingly rendered character - in fact this whole game is a project of passion for its 90's side-scrolling origins. If you played Sonic on the Mega Drive/Genesis, you owe it to yourself to play Sonic Mania.

Excellent local-multiplayer, a game involving frenetic duelling, tearing your opponent's head off, jumping over thrown swords and the victor getting eaten by a bloodthirsty serpent.

Excellent little hardcore top-down shooter, a revamped version of the freeware PC version from the early 2000's. The gameplay never changes, but the campaign missions offer enough variety in objectives and surprises to keep you interested for the entire game. Unlock weapons and perks for the survival mode (or, if you're sneaky, pause the game during campaign mode and type "grim" to unlock perks for campaign mode too!).

Oh, it's also got four player co-op, but it's local only. You'll be needing controllers for that, which I guess would work nicely with Big Picture mode and a Steambox.

Gut-wrenchingly difficult old-school FPS action. Pick up health packs, blasplode secret areas open, aim for weak spots, walk down linear paths. Good times for all.

A painfully addictive Roguelike with a smattering of comedy items and monsters. Krong approves.

One of my favourite games of all times, extensibly modifiable to allow you to do pretty much anything you want, be it make a home in a castle to display all of your sweet loot, or become head of a thieves guild, a god of madness, a brave paladin, a master archer.. Or a 300lb leaping beserker orc with a flaming warhammer. It's all good.

GOTY Deluxe edition includes all of the sweet-ass DLC too. If it comes on offer again, grab it. This as been a Steam "I need one more achievement for that treasure hunt" review.
