Revised Review: I cam back to the game after a long time and was pleasantly surprised how much it has improved. I am having so much fun and I can't express enough my awe and wonder about the world design. The devs have optimised the game really well, it runs flawlessly on my old gen system. And I was so surprised to see play it on a Steam Deck as well, aside from deluge I didn't face any lag most of the game. After asset loading game stabilises itself to near fixed fps. As a souls game player I am used to of a little unstable fps, so no complaints their.

I don't know how much new content was added or replaced in patches, everything is just perfect for me. Really love the combo mechanic, the combat in this game is so satisfying and rewarding and also really versatile. This is a first game where I really enjoyed a caster type build, it is so op. There are tonnes of weapons and gear to be creative with builds and do great fashion. Every time I load the game I visit Uranopolis first just to see the world of this game, standing on that narrow bridge every direction you look, it's so infinite and surreal. Bleak Faith is such a beautiful game.

Bleak Faith has come a long way now and has great experience to offer. It is unforgiving at the beginning, once you get the hang of it, the game becomes very addictive. Every time I play a souls game, it defines the standard of games for me as this is the type of game I enjoy. Bleak Faith Forsaken has done the same for me by setting new standards I will expect from such games in future. It is one of my favourite games and will remain so and I am really excited and hopeful that the devs of this game will create more titles like this.

OLD Review: I've followed this game since I discovered it. And now after getting a a decent playtime I guess I can share my thoughts on this game. Being a fan of Tsutomu Nihei's Blame! and Abara this game was a treat. Being able to explore the desolate megastructure is such a joy, I can't get enough of it. That being said, the game has immersion breaking and game breaking issues.

Others have already gave thier views on controller issue, so on that I'll only say this. Accessibility is important for a game's survival, it's the first thing that gives an impression and can steer people away from a good game. Controller issue has affected opinions on very recent AAA titles.

The game is not optimised, it needed more tests and bug fixes. It has robbed me of enjoyment. I have a very old system, despite that it can run recent resource hogging games on high and sometimes ultra setting. This game stutters even on lower settings, I don't think that is the hardware. The frame drops on boss fights, and even though I'm an average gamer when it comes to combat, I lost fights because of massive frame drops, I had to fight the game itself with work arounds to win a fight, that wasn't very satisfying at the end. This is a major issue and needs to be addressed soon.

Music is ok, some tracks are great some are average, what's not great is the transition between tracks. The music stops and switches to another. It breaks immersion if I'm being honest.

Animations are not very enticing. It looks unnatural sometimes, the blend between cycles is very noticeable. Running with shields on looks unnatural, left hand stays still like the character has a broken shoulder. I know character animation is difficult, but it breaks the overall immersion. It's not a major issue for me, I can look past it, but it should have been done properly.

Combat is ok, I have gotten used to it now, and with some little work it can be improved. I don't like the climb system, not because it is unconventional in general terms, but because of missing indicators of enemy attack which one shots me. Also the visual effects on that particular combat hides everything, you don't even see what's going on and you just die.

I really like the system of stats through items, being able to alter your build on the fly is really good in this game.

The UI is awful and cluttered. It seems as if no work has been done on it. I don't mond it honestly, but it is tedious because it's not easy to find items fast, better UI adds to the overall appeal and accessibility of the game.

Bleak Faith is a thing on it's own and if it was tested properly and given more time, this game has so much potential. Even though it is labyrinthine at times the explorer in me really enjoys it, not knowing whats on the next place or what is even the next place keeps me excited. This might turn off some and for that a map or some sort of marker system would have helped.

I understand game dev is not an easy undertaking especially when you go on this massive scale with a very short team. But if people have to pay for it and on top of that get frustrated and turned off then it does not look good. I sympatize with the devs as this is disheartening to be brutally criticised, but that is part of the trade and will help them in future. So far their proactive approach on listening to the community and patching issues promptly is admirable, it shows good faith and I hope they fix the major issues because Bleak Faith deserves that.

This game is wonderful and can offer a great experience in exploration at the moment. But taking into account the other issues of the game, I can not recommend this game to anyone.

I will continue playing, I am having fun for the most part and I keep an open mind on the issues. I wish the devs well and hope they fix the issues affecting this game.

Even with a decent system which can play resource extensive games without a problem, this game wont run past 20 fps in best case scenario. The game was fine in EA, but became a waste of space on my system. I really want to play this game, I have enjoyed it during the EA phase where the same system was pushing 120+ fps for me. I have tried everything I could to make it run, nothing works. The vram goes full, what the hell is it loading in the memory? I can get by the fact that I'll probably never be able to play the previous rundowns but this is just stupid and a waste of money. For anyone who doesn't have a system strong enough to contain a fully functioning Artificial Super Intelligent being, do not bother buying this game, given the fact that you wont be able to play previous rundowns is a let down on it's own which I was fine with because I really enjoyed the game. What a waste, I am really regretting buying this game for the fact that despite having it I won't be able to play it, becaus it is a steamiing pile of an unoptimized mess.

Changing review, the game is breathtaking, my issue was controller detection which was sorted and I had a lot of fun afterwards. The game is massive, the lore is great as has been the case with From Software titles. I constantly played and had fun in co-op. I'll be honest, the scale of the game at times was overwhelming for me, in a positive way. I'm taking a break for now and will return soon to continue. This game is worth the price and I'm so excited for future From Software titles.

Game runs perfectly on Linux Steam Play Proton. So far no issues. I just wanna say Strife is awesome and it would be so cool to see more of him in a 3rd person game. Gameplay is not not at all different from the Darksider Franchise, only the view is different (and annoying sometimes as it is fixed). Switching to War is always a nostalgia. Strief's gun roll is cool.
