I would probably do a neutral rating if it was possible, there's a lot of polish missing and I found the "horror" laughable at best. Mostly lame jumpscares, not even a fragment of bioshock horror you'd expect from the gameplay.
The grappling hook has a really awful screen shake effect for no good reason, it just sucks.
The dilapidated state of this tower is in direct contradiction to the "big finale" at the end of the demo where some music and lights happen but the audio is obviously not actually playing in the room because it sounds too clean. I'd expect something like broken vintage speakers attempting to play the song but its warped or something.
The story is about as interesting as tissue paper and just as thin.

I miss bioshock man

Game of the year, every year.

Extraordinarily aggressive monetization and needs a overhaul, it feels like there's 10 different systems to interact with to make yourself better but the UI hell gets in the way. But its neat to see star trek characters again, getting all the orginal actors back is cool for sure. Only play if you really like star trek like me

Good game

I really did enjoy my time with this game, the tone is the best part by far. I have never been so freaked out by a power outage or a satellite with a manual shutoff being flipped in the middle of the night where nobody but you is around tracking a signal on your console..... Sadly development has stopped completely. There is no goal beyond get good and no real plot or endpoint and I feel like that is a real shame considering what more development could do for this game.

It just keeps getting better, I hope more technical updates happen in the future

Gud ass game

Absolutely unplayable infuriating audio popping issue with ANY surround sound emulation software...you HAVE to alt tab about every ten minutes. No way to fix.

This game fixes some of the combat problems there were in alan wake while still telling a really interesting side story. Very much worth the time.

It's one of my favorite games, it really takes its time to get going but once it does its a hell of an experience. I recommend playing only on nightmare, I'm pretty sure it's how it was meant to be played.
