This perpetually in-dev zombie survival fps game has come a long ways since I was first attempting to make it in what would become the Navezgane we know today.
Huge overhauls to many systems came about in the last alpha builds before they came out of early access and decided it now resembles the core of the game they envisioned 10 or so years ago.
There's a some gripes if you've been playing for years, but TFP are working on it still at time of this review, so we could still get a lot of the early promised features.
You can have fun with it for a time, whether just exploring custom maps, trying different horde defense ideas, doing a challenge run, but much like minecraft you'll drift away and do other stuff for a bit.
There are some fun mods you can try out that offer things like picking locks like in a Beth game, more vehicles, total over hauls like darkness falls or the wastland, so there's things you can do to add new life to the old zombie smash once you get used to the basic game. You can also, at least when I wrote this, load older versions of the game and try them out too still to see how much it's changed over the years.

Tl:dr It's not a great game but it is trying to get there still after all these years, you can have a good time smashing zombies especially with some friends, try to get it on a sale.

TF2 was my main game for the longest time, I got the orange box for it and Portal mostly.
I have countless memories of playing on so many maps and made a few friends pushing karts, defending or capping a point, recovering the stolen data.
The game in it's current state is a mess, ruining the fun and chance for new players to know what made this game so good.
It's driven some people to play other team based fps games and those games have their own issues.

GabeN, please, we need you to be that guy who broke away from M$ so many years ago, who said we need to make games that are fun to play, help us #FixTF2 and make it fun to play again.

It's like playing Honey I Shrunk The Kids, lots to explore and do especially with the newest updates.

This was a fun little gta lite type sim game. It doesn't try to take itself too serious, the story is pretty silly and the characters are all pretty insane. You can have some fun being the bum, getting all the collectibles can take a few trips around the city, and rescuing the other bums gets repetitive but it's not out of the way enough to make it difficult. You can just beat the game pretty quickly if you want, or wander and finish all the side quests to be the top bum.

Your boat is stuck in the muck and you have to slowly mine and work your way through the resources to fix it while fighting off monsters each night.
It gets hectic and can be insane to beat but lots of fun to just goof around with.

This game is a little tricky to get but once you've got your tactics down it becomes quite fun. It's kind of like AoE or a city building game. You have to spend some time on learning what each building can do and offer your city.

This is a pretty entertaining little game, it's fun to relive a version of the game industry. Mostly it focuses on the major released consoles so you might feel like there's some that got skipped, it also feels like it rushes through some of the lifespans a little quicly.

It can be tricky to get going at first but there are some obvious combos to use in development.

You learn to curse the ratings as you get soo many 10, 10, 10, 9's that you want to kill the fictional all games staff.

There's some fun achievements to get along the way and it's an interesting trip through the history of gaming.

This is a fun little trek through some classic styles of Adventure/RPG. Kind of a love letter to the games that made the genre what we think of today.

The story is pretty basic so you could beat the game straight through without spending too much time on it, but at the same time you can spend just a little more to 100% it. They even included a way in game to help you hunt down the missing shinies, you can also re-fight the noria mines boss to get the win without losing hearts.

The graphics do get pretty decent for a simple game and they use the swapping between the flat 8/16-bit style to a more link to the past 2.5/3D view calling it time travel as a way to add some decent puzzles and exploration to some of the sites you visit.

I felt that it could have been a little longer, maybe a little bit more progression in the early stages as it seems to leap to color and beyond a bit quick and then all they have is a few graphical enhancements and a minimap.

If you or someone you know liked any of the games it's paying homage to, I'd say snag a copy, a sure thing if you see it on sale.
