Horrible stuttering makes me stop wanting to play it. Unfortunately, the developers never did anything to fix the problem.

Bel platform. Molto carino e ben realizzato. Nella sua non eccessiva complessit�  di platform-metroidvaniano risulta piacevole e curato sotto ogni aspetto.
R.I.P. allo studio che ha chiuso i battenti purtroppo.

GAME IN BETA AND ABANDONED , DON'T BUY
A funny game, with too many technical issues: stutterfest and unstable fps even on powerful hardware (just Google "The Ascent stuttering"), random crash-freezes (the game will just freeze with sound still playing in background. Confirmed by other users on Steam community forums).
There are also ugly unpolished glitches, e.g. you have to crouch to pass under some pipes, then you see animated working bots passing through the pipes as they don't have collision at all!
You can't remap gamepad controls.
Some game-design choices are debatable, f.e. generic loot crates farming: they re-appear in the same spot if you move far away enough and then go back to the same location. You can virtually replenish your money/health with this simple mechanic, when required... bad idea tyring to rebalance the game difficulty?
Add to this other minor bugs here and there...

A pity it has been abandoned in this bad state: it had potentials and some things are very well done, like the very good graphics and arcade shooter mechanic, but after a while you realize it's more of an abandoned 0.9beta then a finished, polished product.

The game per-se is gorgeous with stunning detailed graphics and ambience. Slightly underwhelming characters models on the other hand: some 3D human/animals look like something out of The Sims.
It has A LOT to offer including secrets, secondary quests and beautiful world exploration, but...

There are technical problems: this game (build 1235957 07/24/2024) suffers some serious issues on modern CPU/GPUs (e.g. 40x0 + i9) resulting in annoying hiccups and slow assets loading stuttering running around Hogwarts map.

Played with: i9-13980HX, 32GB DDR5 5600MHz, 4090 laptop 175W 16GB (a bit better then a 4070ti desktop), NVMe 6GB/s, 2560x1600 16:10 G-Sync screen. Win 11 23H2.

Constant improvements and updates. Nice looking, but the editor is quite old and unintuitive (it can be a pain, but once done is ok). Italian translation would require an update...

Problematic (slow) support with rare updates and bugs unresolved. It's not abandoned, but developement (and hence fixes) is very slow.
This game does not support 16:10 Fullscreen resolutions (e.g. 1920x1200), only 16:9.
Half-broken keyboard keys/menu text not matching.

The game itself is 7/10 and is fun to play, but also has some annoying (and ignored) bugs plus rough edges.

Grafica veramente vecchiotta (pelle di gomma, alberi poco realistici etc.).
Carriera solo online a quanto pare... (e un giorno i server verranno chiusi)

Nel complesso: deludente.

Non male.
Gira bene e fluidamente, sia dal lato sonoro che esteticamente non è da bocca aperta ma nel complesso è carino e sufficientemente curato.
Il gameplay ha alcune ovvie varianti nella nuova versione che lo rendono da un lato più semplice (es. è possibile cumulare i power-up) ma la pallina inizier�  ad accelerare piuttosto rapidamente raggiungendo velocit�  MOLTO più elevate di quelle a cui eravamo abituati...
Le modalit�  disponibili sono: Neo (supera tutti i livelli e sconfiggi Doh), Eternal Battle (AI e umani online che partiranno insieme e dovranno sgomitare per raggiungere il primo posto che consentir�  all'ultimo rimasto di affrontare DoH), sfida Locale tra amici, e modalit�  arcade col primo Arkanoid in una sala-giochi simulata... Ce n'è per tutti insomma, e non sono fatte male.
L'unica vera pecca forse è la mancanza di regolazione ultra-fine della velocit� /inerzia del mouse (hai solo una decina di regolazioni di velocit�  del mouse, niente inerzia o altro), per calibrarla a puntino vista la sua importanza in un gioco così.

Vale la pena? Massì, a -90% è assolutamente raccomandabile a chi non dispiace il genere. Non raggiunger�  le vette di un BabeAnoid su Amiga, ma non è neanche un mero remake da due soldi con colori sgargianti fortunatamente, e si lascia tranquillamente giocare.

Buy King's Bounty: Crossworlds instead which is an enhanced edition with better cutscenes, many extras and DLC included appropriate 16:9 resolution support (no more black bars).

Very unfair devs never fixed 16:9 and cutscenes (postage stamp effect) in this edition.
