(This game is awesome.)

I've played this game for a long time and can safely say I've only raged about 4 times, before changing my rage to depression at trying to beat anything as the Lost without Holy Mantle (I went to about -200 on my losing streak before I just decided to stop playing the Lost and actually play something else. Skill issue.) Then I got better, actually played Greed mode, and the enjoyment started to come back into play as I unlocked said Holy Mantle playing the mode. Is Greed mode fun? At first it can be, then it gets a little annoying trying to grind it to unlock the achievements for it.

What REALLY made this game come back into my favor was the Repentance update, which in my opinion breathed into this game a new life that it has only increased with the updates they add to Rep. Some day I'll play some more again and unlock everything, and when that day comes I'll be even happier than when I unlocked Holy Mantle.

If you own the base game and don't own ANY of the DLC, PLEASE GET IT! It significantly increases replayability and enjoyment almost tenfold. Repentance alone is worth WAY more than they sell it for.

Delightfully simplistic gameplay, cute emoji animals, and a dev team that actually somewhat tries to care about any sort of "meta" involved. It eats time out of your hands like a Worm chowing down on three Pears. Maybe this Worm has a Rabbit friend, who just so happens to want to help said Worm by granting him HP after the hearty meal. Or maybe, just maybe, this Worm also has three Cat friends as well, that have a funny little number 3 with the letters Lv. next to it. Let's just say these Cat friends can miraculously quadruple the effects of the Pear on this Worm. That's exactly what this game is like!

...if RNG were nice to me...

Early Access Review
It is still Early Access. It has flaws. It's "not worth 25 bucks." Plenty of the same recycled reviews amount to people looking at this game and not even attempting to bat an eye.

I play the tabletop version every other week with some friends of mine and cannot get enough of it. It is just challenging enough to make me think twice about doing my next move, plus with an added "lifetime quest" for your character and scenario quests that will keep it just random enough to get you hooked. Alongside this, this is one of those games that you can actually just play by yourself and not feel completely alone. The lore in the board game was intriguing enough to make it seem like you were playing through an RPG. They even intended for you to even RIP UP your cards after you were done with them as to prevent some of the "valuable" encounters from repeating themselves. Now, of course, tabletop games aren't for everyone. Whether or not this has to do with not having enough friends to play it comfortably or just a lack of enjoyment of the said genre, those people who don't enjoy the tabletop games may want to give this PC version a try.

Now, the PC version is just unique enough for a potential differentiating audience that may grasp a hold of the new format a little better. Sure, it is still in development, but what good is a game that doesn't allow user input whilst the game is being crafted? I'd much prefer them continuously work on the game throughout the year and post updates than just sit around with a finger up the derriere just milking the property for what it is; and that is just what they're doing. Constant updates and reminders that "Hey! We still care and are putting everything into it!" really make paying something the "game is not worth" (which, by the way, is ridiculous in of itself) worth it. Off the tangent, I do have some faults of the game that I could potentially see tie more into how the tabletop edition is played as compared to the PC edition.

First and foremost is the card drawing system during battles. Of course we aren't on a table with physical cards, so why do I care about drawing cards? When playing the tabletop version it was decently satisfying, and fairly stress-inducing at times, when put face to face with a Golem that would only die if I drew a +1 or better, hovering my hand over the deck in anticipation. The feel of that doesn't quite translate into the simplistic RNG system they seemed to have gone for during battles. Secondly, even though it is coming en route to the full launch, I feel like being able to get stopped mid-trek to encounter a road event would also be a heavenly addition. This leads to some funny, disturbing, or even rage-inducing results depending on which choice that you would choose in the road event. City events would also be great, but I never really cared for them as much. So finally, we get to the big sha-bang. The bugs. There will be bugs, plenty of them, especially in early access, but I believe the Devs have enough of a mental capacity to be able to fix said bugs without everyone screaming at them. Just file a bug report, and keep on playing. It's a great game! A little hard loving never hurt nobody!

All in all, I'd highly recommend this game to anybody who plays the tabletop edition, and I'd recommend this as well to the potential daring souls that wish to step foot into the Gloom for the first time. Give it some time if you need to, but keep the game bookmarked if it intrigues you.

(I know I didn't go into huge detail with the bugs, but I'm tired. Man's gotta sleep!)

Launcher got stuck as saying I was playing this game even though I never even touched any of the in-game content. Highly recommended.

Early Access Review
I used to enjoy this game.

I've never really been a fan of this genre, but playing this game with friends REALLY made it a lot more bearable. I've had some pretty silly moments, it was almost like a shiny stone hidden in the pile of dirt. I would think to myself, "Self, this game could get better! They'll just add more zombies, fix some bugs, shouldn't be too hard, right?" Well, it's the thought that counts.

It's just a mess. From what I've recalled, this used to be a mod for Arma that was actually very enjoyable with a tight-knitted community. I used to watch YouTube videos of Frankie and Syndicate enjoying the mod, it seemed like fun at the time...I just didn't have the money nor the computer at the time that could run the game all too well. I would hope to get this game so I could finally meet those players, but all to no avail. Then, DayZ became standalone. My buddies got hyped, I had sorta lost interest, but I was still eager to try it for myself. Now I wish I wasn't so happy to try.

It's been years since I've last played. My friends still play it, and from what I've gathered it is still in this deteriorated state that is a very buggy project. I want to believe still, I really do. The community who plays this game are a group of fun individuals being brainwashed into a false sense of security that "everything will be fixed when it comes out of Alpha." I fret for the day that it finally DOES come out in alpha, and it's still very disappointing.

I'll come back in 2030. Maybe it'll be fully released at that point.

No matter what I do, this game just keeps bringing me back. I don't know whether it's an insatiable lust for going through the levels or the feeling of all that nostalgia flowing through my veins. Regardless, EverQuest II has its flaws and perks, being such an outdated MMO compared to most newer ones. The only thing I wish for is that Daybreak try and recreate the old days of EQ2, not the current TLE Servers they're running (It's cool and all, but I want those SICK old graphics!).

New content DOES get pushed out, and it IS for Members to enjoy at first, but I don't mind that too much. I'm just a simple man looking for a nice simple MMO to play. This is the one!

Very fun and challenging indie game, definitely carries a lot of impression in a small package. Worth your money!
