Early Access Review
Initial/early game review (will update when I get further in):
So far I have played for approx 4.5 hours

Story line:
The campaign starts in 1095 during the crusades, where you need to build up an army and within a 2 year in game period have a large army you can have at the then “Pope’s” door step (located in what is currently Istanbul) before the time is up; ready to invade what is currently Israel.

You start in Scotland with a: Knight commander, priest, a set of sheep, 2 sets of workers, siege weapons including a walking a shield and 2 food wagons; some silver, food and other basic supplies. The first thing you need to do is to increase your soldiers (make sure you keep some coin you will need it); then pick your invasion target and the rest is pretty much down hill from there: defend your hamlet, build it up and build your army. Always stay alert in this game; anything can happen, it’s an RTS after all. (Real Time Strategy).

Pro’s so far:
The game play has been quite playable, no mayor problems so far even at max graphics settings:
No Lag caused by Memory.
No Lag caused by CPU Usage.
No Lag caused by GPU Usage. (Current peak is round 66% and that’s with 2 monitors on the same RTX 4070)

Problems:
If you have multi-screen you might want to temporarily disable 1 of the screens (especially if they are 4K monitors and you have both screens set to 1920x1080).
The game defaults the screen size to the maximum the monitor (s) can handle making things look weird, forcing an Alt+F4 by the user (if they know about it) to get out of the problem, followed by a restart of the game, after which screen 1 will be fully in 4K and you will have to change it to the size you prefer it to be after selecting the language. (Note if you hit the wrong language or after the Alt+F4 it is in the wrong language, there is an Icon at the top left of the screen; click it and you can change the language of the game).

I wish that all games were defaulted to system settings; it’s unfortunate that a lot still don’t.

So far I haven't played much, though from what I've seen, is good so far. (Shame you can't place barriers below ground though).

That said I would like to ask the Dev: Please remove that Telephone ring tone (bird SFX) it's really annoying (As in Pick up the dam phone annoying), if you have some audio editing software (where you can remove Static/wind/environmental noise) I have some local bird recordings and you are welcome to a copy. (I've been making recordings of everything (so I can make my own game and not worry about copyright and licensing issues).

Very Very AGGRAVATING and slow; you have to click parts MULTIPLE TIMES before it acknowledges that you want to edit it, you can't just drag the video clips onto the new video time line; you have to click it, and drag it 2x it will deny the first attempt EVERY TIME, (I started recording in OBS soon as the Aggravation started, the YouTube link is: https://youtu.be/Ps8a-1VH5_U ) I used to use Powerdirector 18 and had to upgrade to this p00p, all because 18 doesn't work on the GDPR Violating pile of Crp Microsoft Windows 11.

There are some features that are a nice touch like multiple Text effects with the colours; but the aggravation this version gives is making it a hard one to keep my patience and 20+ years of anger/rage bottled.

Not able to play without an account to some where else, and not without giving out private information; thanks but no thanks; Cyberscurity 101; what goes online can be easily cracked, stolen, abused and used for fraud. NO THANK YOU! (I will not ake any part in that).

I started playing "Wild Indigo Ranch" while it was still called "Don't Die in the West" it took a little while to get used to this style of gameplay, but had lots of fun, just not a lot of time (the 10 hours play time was in 1 day and without a break).

It's transformed a lot since then and will have to look again soon as I can slide it in. :p
Might have to stream it on Twitch or make more videos for on YouTube and Rumble at some point (same name as Steam). Will update the review once I've updated myself on the game.

For a game that was released on a "PC/Laptop platform" You Would Have Thought That the game would have easy to use keyboard controls, but No.

Looks like the game was created for console or mobile and ported to PC/Laptop; a big read flag (that was ignored in my case) was the Full Xbox Controller Support. If you can't use controllers, this game is not for you. Even though it can be played with a keyboard, the controls sck and can't be customised to something easier and more playable.

If you are going to port a console game to a PC/Laptop platform you could at the very least make the keys customisable.

Early Access Review
Talk about boring, the reality of this "Multi choice" game is: How fast you can click to get it over and done with.
I wasn't expecting much on the price alone, but I was hoping for more interaction rather than left click 1000 - 2000 times between "choices" which I had one of those macro's setup that click very fast.

If you don't have/want an external Ubisoft account or if your Ubisoft account was hacked ant taken over (and Ubisoft Refuses to give your account back to you) don't bother buying this game. It requires a Ubisoft account log into before you can play the game!

This game needs to be moved from full release into Early Access, there are Sooooo many bugs in this game.
Within the first 15 min I found over 15 bugs, most were minor and irritating ones (the irritating ones were the lag and power usage going dark red, drawing more and more wattage into the system without a limit)

There was quite a few spelling and grammar issues.

There were also a hand full of medium bugs, and weirdness in the game.

For a spec reference/PC Build mine is:

Windows 10 Pro 64Bit
Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z390-A Socket LGA1151
CPU: 9th Gen Intel Core I7-9700K Processor (3.6GHz, 8 Core, LGA1151) (Running Stock, No overclocking)
Heatsink: Noctua NH-U14S Ultra-Quiet Slim CPU Cooler with 2x NF-A15 Fan's
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance (Running at 2133MHz)
GPU: Power Colour AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Red Devil 12 Gb DDR6 (Overheats if I set 1 or both screens to 1440p while playing Conan Exiles, Scum, and games with an un-capped FPS)
1st HD: 240GB Radeon SSD (O/S only)
2nd HD: 2TB SATA III (Seagate BarraCuda 3.5")
3rd HD: 2TB SATA III (Seagate BarraCuda 3.5")
4th HD: 240GB Kingston SSD (SVN/Repository only)
5th HD: 2TB SATA III (Seagate BarraCuda 3.5")
Optical Drive: Pioneer BD-RW BDR-209 (Writes up to 50Gb Blu-rays)
Sound Card: Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus Pure Edition (With the Zx Exterior controller)
PSU (Power Supply): Phanteks Revolt X (80 Plus Platinum) 1000 Watt Fully Modular Power Supply

Monitor: (2x): IIYama 28" G-Master GB2888UHSU Monitor (3840 x 2160 Max DPI) Both are currently set for 1080p.
Mouse: Tecknet 6D Gaming Mouse (Cheep but still a good mouse)
