After the new patch it feels MUCH better. Mouse responsiveness especially, feels nice and snappy. Performance wise its slightly better as well as tons of bug fixes and VOIP, ive actually gotten a few squads where we talk and and goof off its quite fun.

First 80 percent of the game was amazing, then suddenly in the missions leading up to the epilogue and the epilogue itself the writing and plot became awful to keep up with. I realize that the guy who wrote most of the stuff left before development finished but man it was hard to finish this. Tons of plot holes, characters that you hadn't talked to since the first few hours of the game suddenly showing up with no explanation, and just overall pacing of the narrative lead to an overall unsatisfying ending. Gameplay and story is great for a majority of the game though so I have to recommend it just for that, but the ending leaves a lot to be desired.

Been waiting since the beginning to finally get an end to the story, and its great. plenty of choices to be made for different endings. Performance has increased greatly since launch, over 100fps on high/ultra.

Still more content is going to come to the game and I will revisit it when that happens

Took me 18 hours to finish the game, did all the locked doors and chernobylite burners and all side things I could manage, the other 8 hours on record are from my first playthrough in early access, they significantly increased the play time of the game.

Early Access Review
Devs that actually care about what players want from an open world survival game, adding things from classic games like dayz mod, plus the map will be MASSIVE once final release hits. Smooth gunplay, bullets actually kill. Base building that works and isnt TOO grindy, and basic crafting recipes for meds and stuff like that. Tons of fun with friends and the AI are fun to play against, keeps the world from feeling too empty

Really low quality textures, scripted reload animations instead of manually doing it. Guns dont one shot to the head and can even take up to like 4 shots to the head on medium difficulty, while melee always kills to the head in one shot. The environment is extremely static, no physical objects to interact with and no movement. I was really hoping to like this game after playing saints and sinners, so excited in fact that I preordered it, but after playing only an hour and a half I feel like I've experienced about all there is to do, other than the rest of the story missions (which are locked behind having to find more survivors, forcing you to do the boring scavenging runs in between missions).

Beat the entire game on the Oculus Rift CV1 playing seated and it was amazing

(I have to play seated because of my back)

+ Seated play worked fine, no button to crouch but the gravity gloves make picking up things a breeze

+ Quality was good enough on my headset to enjoy the game without feeling like i couldn't make out things. Sure things far away are kind of hard to make out but most of the game play takes place up close and personal.

+ The detail that went into the game is amazing, literally lifelike in some places.

- Gun play is a little bullet spongey, but thats half-life for ya.

- On Oculus hand models look wonky when fingers rest on the triggers but dont pull it. (because of sensor)

Amazing Story, Captivating Characters, and Engaging boss fights.

Soul of an indie game with the polish of a AAA game, took me 8 hours to beat and it is definitely worth full price for the content you get, but even better if you get it on sale ;)

Amazing Game, played on Oculus Rift CV1

Art Style is great and fits the game well, the gameplay is good but i feel that the walk speed could be a little faster, the zombie models are great and the melee combat feels immersive. Having your weapons get stuck in zombies heads as 5 more are shambling towards you is an intense moment.

One complaint is single zombies breaking down big doors, they can just bash through a couple hundred pound wooden door like it was made of glass.

Game has good replayability, after the story ends you can revisit all locations and do events such as looking for supply caches or fighting humans.
