It's an RPG Metroidvania with a very solid core, if a bit on the simpler side of things (kind of feels a bit more like an NES Castlevania game in a way) and having some slightly underwhelming magic and movement abilities. It's pretty fun to play and with a gorgeous art style. The main turn off for me is that the proc gen doesn't have enough variety and interesting modifiers to justify itself. The rooms on a floor start to feel samey and lack the kind of "ooo, what's going to be in this next room" feeling that I look for in these kinds of games. It's enjoyable regardless and I do think a lot of early complaints were addressed with updates over time

A walking sim. Much style, little substance.

I think the sexual violence brings down an otherwise very good game and experience. I have no issue with sexual violence if handled in a more serious manner, but it feels like it's just there to invoke edgy horror, and seemingly without reason behind it. If the idea of being raped up the ass by several moneters if you try to talk with them or just get defeated by them does not bother you, you will likely get a lot more out of this game than I did (the gameplay and vibes are otherwise excellent!). As is I will be moving onto the second game, since that one seems to be more toned down in that regard

Love the overall concept + aesthetic, though it's giving me some odd slowdowns on my end. At times it felt like I was playing Gradius 3 on the SNES all over again. Don't have a good PC, but it should be more than enough to handle a game like this (GTX 970m, 16 GB ram, etc.) It's fun enough that I'd recommend it regardless.

Feels surprisingly well and intuitive after playing Dark Souls with it for about 30 minutes. The feel of the controller is great at least for my (very) small hands, but the best feature by far are the community bindings available via the in-game Steam interface; it's lovely being able to just load up any game for the first time and have PC or Xbox controls mapped onto the pad instantly by simply choosing a community-made layout. I'm not as crazy for the D-Pad, but it does the job well enough. The buttons/stack have nice feedback as well and feel like they could take a pounding. Back buttons ae nice too. Overall well worth it.
