This one feels like a true evolution to the survivor-like formula, introducing optional twin-stick shooting alongside the typical auto-aiming at the nearest enemy. Another huge mixup is a hades-like boss mechanic where after each level you fight a character that will have changing dialogue based on progression/how many times you've faced them, which does a lot to break up the monotony that is inherent to the genre. THIS GAME HAS A BUILT IN 2x GAMESPEED BUTTON! This cuts out a ton of the moments that frequently occur in these kinds of games where there's not much happening for minutes at a time, or where you're so strong all you can do is wait.

I despise console and I bought this game twice on the PS4. Genuinely a masterpiece.

Genuinely some of the best character writing I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing in gaming history. I love this group of dumb ♥♥♥♥♥. One of the only games in the last couple decades that had me shedding tears at some point. Heaven is one of the best songs of any OST I've ever heard, literally listened to it for nearly 10 hours straight. Gameplay wise, it's Persona, so it's automatically one of the greatest JRPG experiences in the genre. I cannot recommend this enough. Here's hoping there's a remake and at the very least they keep the VA for the love of my life Chie.
