Early Access Review
I've been waiting for this game for... a while. Unfortunately, the state it's in right now is underwhelming. There's not much to do beyond farming and mining. Talking to NPCs gets old really quickly because they each only have a handful of lines, and the mining minigame is closer to an exercise in frustration than fun.

That said, the game runs pretty smoothly for an Early Access title. The mix of 2D and 3D graphics is occasionally jarring but on the whole it's charming. There's a lot of potential here--but I think I'll be setting this aside while I wait for that potential to show up.

Okay, look: I loved the original trilogy. I have hundreds of hours in the original versions of ME2 and ME3.

I AM NEVER GOING BACK. The legendary edition is everything I ever wanted from a remaster. ME1 is actually fun to play now! Some of the old, never-fixed bugs have been fixed! The graphics (particularly for ME1) are leaps and bounds ahead of the original version. It's the games I love, smoothed out into a more cohesive experience.

There are a few relatively minor bugs still standing--the screen resolution likes to default to something tiny when you look at the graphics settings in-game but that's easily fixed by closing all the way out and reloading. There are some other bugs that I've downloaded mods to repair. But these are minor things, easily fixed or ignored.

And if you haven't played Mass Effect before? Now is the best damn opportunity to give it a shot.

My name's not Commander Shepard, but this IS my favorite game on the Citadel.

I backed this game ages ago on Kickstarter and I'm so glad to see it out in the world!!

More detailed review to come once I've really dug my teeth into the game. :)

Updated to contain a proper review. Overall, 8/10.

Pros:
- It's a beautiful game, especially on high graphics.
- Soundtrack fits the game well, though it doesn't stand on its own as well as the first game's soundtrack.
- A successful ghost run has never been more satisfying.
- Playing high chaos as Emily is amazing. A voiced protagonist definitely has advantages.

Cons:
- I was spared, but many people have had framerate (and other) issues with the game despite their hardware being over minimum.
- The writing isn't quite on par with the first game. Is it an enjoyable game? Yes. But it's not quite on the same level, and that's a little disappointing.

A relatively short game -- a single playthrough took me only about 5 hours -- but one with replayability. To be entirely honest, I loved this game from the moment I got to choose not only my player character's name, but pronouns. It only got better from there. (Allowing me to set any pronouns I want? Incredible. Game developers, take note.)

I mean, let's be honest -- Turing alone would have sold this game for me. Add to that a delightfully rendered cyberpunk world, and the opportunity to shape the path the story takes? I love it.

To be honest, the only problem with the game that immediately comes to mind is that playing it with an xbox controller is occasionally a bit... frustrating. The game certainly works with a controller, but some of the puzzles and simply trying to select places on the map were far more difficult than they should have been. I shouldn't need to pick up my mouse just to select a spot on the map!

TL;DR: a+ cute robot. 9/10.

Once upon a time, I played Pharoah and Emperor and pretty much nothing else. Had lots of fun, got pretty good.... and then technology moved along and while those games might run on my computers now, they simply look... old.

Cue Lethis. It's a similar game, but, you know, more up to date. Now that the game is more stable, I'm having quite a bit of fun and I am now much more willing to recommend the game.

Pros: Entertaining, if you're into oldschool city builders. In-game graphics and the background music are both excellent. Developers are doing an excellent job of putting out patches and keeping players up to date so far.

Cons: Still somewhat buggy, and crashes on occasion. English translation still has some issues. Needs an undo button, and there's still a lot of room for improvement.

Very enjoyable game and absolutely worth its cost. Great game for story- and character-oriented players in particular, though the game plays quite well. I recommend playing with a controller instead of mouse/keyboard but that's more personal preference than anything else. It's not an exceptionally long game unless you're more of a completionist like I am. As far as DLC goes, I highly recommend both Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches (and play them in order, if you want to fully enjoy them).
