Fine, I guess I'll be the one to say it. No, I wasn't there for the release of Half Life 2. I wasn't there back when the graphics melted your eyes, the words "proper physics engine" blew your mind and Valve for some strange reason still made video-games. So if you expect me to say that Half Life 2 blew my mind, or that the gameplay is the best in the industry, or that the narrative was brilliantly pulled off, or that a silly video-game made me question what I did with my life before I got my hands on it..

you've come to the right place.

I'm not really sure what there is to say about Half Life 2 that hasn't already been said. But if you've scrolled this far down the steam user reviews page and haven't been convinced yet by the overwhelming amount of people absolutely gushing over this game
think again.
Because hey, this game is actually pretty damn good.

For ten euro, there's so much to pick up from this game. Undertale isn't your traditional pick up, play and put back in your shelf game. Partly because it's only avaliable digitaly, but mainly because It's a game that sticks to you. And impacts you.
The world of Undertale is alive. It's breathing. And by alive, I don't mean the game world is huge, or looks impressing graphically. Quite the opposite actually. The game world in itself isn't impressing in scale, and the game looks like a game straight from the SNES era. What truly makes the world of Undertale feel so alive is it's characters and world-building.
Every character is so lovable, charming and distinct to the point where you almost view them as real persons. And the writing in the game is so fantastic, it's hard to stop playing or thinking about Undertale once you're hooked. The characters actually remember your actions and reacts to them, just like a real person would do. The characters are some of the most lovable in a video-game, and it explains the endless stream of fan-fiction and fan-art for the characters of Undertale. Undertale is the kind of game where you loose yourself in the experience, loose track of time and absolutely love it. Or hate it. Depending on YOUR actions.
And that brings me to my next point.
Undertale is a game where you make choices. Real, heavy choices. And the choices you make actually matter. Not just within the next ten minutes of gameplay, but for the whole experience. As I said, the characters remember everything you do. The game has no less than three diffrent endings, each one playing out significantly diffrent compared to the others. To understand the full plot, and the full greatness of Undertale you have to get all of them. The replay-value is fantastic.
The consequence of such a living world, meaningfull choices and so lovable characters makes for a game incredibly easy to immerse yourself into. And Undertale abuses this to the max.
Did I meantion that the writing in this game is incredible? It really is. I meant it.
The story has so many twists and turns and breaks the norm in so many ways, to the point that you never know what's gonna happen next. This game has some of the absolute most hearth-wrenching and hearth-warming moments in video-game history, and often you don't even see them coming. I wont spoil anything, but this game will make you laugh through your tears.
As you may have heard, I've mentioned the word experience many times throughout this review. And that's because that's just what Undertale is. This game will make you love yourself. Or absolutely hate yourself. The game toys with your feelings, and it's fantastic.
But what about the gameplay?
Well, Undertale surely doesn't dissapoint.
The combat system is fast-paced and robust, with each fight being like a puzzle on it's own depending on how you choose to handle the situation. The way you fight also change drasticly depending on which enemy or boss you're fighting, which makes every fight memorable.
And oh, did I meantion this game has a killer soundtrack? The game's tracks fit their scenes perfectly, and are a huge part of the game. The games track contributes to the experience immensly, and makes the emotional moments of Undertale hit even harder. Which is a rare thing these days. The boss tracks are also some of the most epic, awesome, hearth-pumping tracks I've ever heard.

Just listen to some of these tracks. Seriously.

Heartily recommended, buy it!

To The Moon is, in my opinion, one of the finest examples of story telling in video-games and media in general. No other video-game, movie, song or media in general that has given me the goosebumps, tears, joy and straight off happiness that To The Moon has given me. Ever.

In one moment you might just sit smiling in front of your computer screen. In the other you might be wiping your tears.
And the game is so perfectly balanced between the two. The game is sad. Oh, its sad. But it's always tilting ever so slightly to the happy side. And in the ending moments of the game, even tho I was crying like a baby and I was sweating like a jackass, I was smiling during the whole scene.
And never have I been this close to euphoria in a video-game, like i was during the ending moments of To The Moon. To The Moon is a experience that will leave deep marks, and stay with you long after you have turned off your computer.

So, is it worth your money?

To The Moon isn't for everyone. If you're looking for a meaty RPG with endless hours of gameplay, this isn't the game for you. The game can easily be completed in less than five hours.

But if you measure value in the amount of laugh, tears and goosebumps it gives you, To The Moon is some of the best value you can get for your hard earned money.

Heartily recommended!

Vanilla Skyrim is a fantastic sandbox game, which embraces your curiosity and let's you pick a path, explore anything you want and do anything you want. Wanna engage a fist fight with a bear? Sure, go ahead. Wanna play tag with the kids and brutally shout them away with an unrelenting force anytime they get near you? Sure, you can do that! Like that guy's cloths? Well, if you've leveled your pickpocketing enough, take them!

And Modded Skyrim can be anything of your sick imaginations. Ever wanted to ride a my little pony and beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of masterchief with a rainbow sword? Sure, you can do that. Or maybe you just want the most photo-realistic graphics in any video-game to date and melt your GPU? Absolutely! With the power of the creation kit, and Skyrim's amazing modding community almost nothing is impossible.

All of this adds up to some of the best value you can get out of your money on steam. Vanilla Skyrim has a good 300 hours of premium content and Modded Skyrim can be just how big or small you want, with some mods adding entire new continents, challenging the content of the actual vanilla game in quality. Pure joy. Highly recommended!

The Binding of Isaac was a dungeon crawler, top down shooter, rouge like indie game released in 2011. The games story is about a crying naked child, named Isaac, who have ventured down to the depths of his basement full of monsters escaping from his corrupted mom who had been told by god to end his life.

Charming, am i right?

The Binding of Isaac, with its addictive dungeon crawler, top down shooter, rouge like gameplay, dark tone and charming story went on to catch many gamers eyes, and love. Including mine. The game sold over 1 million copies, and is highly regarded as one of the best gems of the Indie industry.

Now, that ive told you how much loved the original binding of issac was, is it really worth paying three times the price of the original game for a remake?
The answer is: Yes. Its worth every single penny.
The game has benn rebuilt from scrath, whit an all new engine. Which brings new beautiful lightning effects and gorgeous 16-bit graphics, that makes the game runnable at 60fps on almost any computer. And not to mention all the new content that has been added to the game, but thats up to you to discover.

The gameplay remains just as addicting as the first Binding of Isaac's. The game is a joy to play, from the second you boot up the game, to the second you die.
Thats when you hate the game.
Remember what i said about The Binding of Isaac being a rouge like game? Well, if your new to the genre, a rouge like game is a game where you only have one chance to beat the game, and if you die you will have to start all over again.

For many, this is the reason why they run from The Binding of Isaac.

But for others, this is the main reason you buy the game. And all the different item drops, and combinations makes for almost endless replayabilty. This is one of the strongest points of The Binding of Isaac Rebirth, and it will take you weeks, and months to discover everything this game has to offer you. The Binding of Isaac Rebirth will keep you up late at night.

But This is also where the main issue of the game comes in. You see, everything in the game, from the level structure to the item drops are all decided in RNG. Aka, Randomly Generated Numbers. The game is all built around luck. The game can feel straight off frustrating time to time, and many times you will feel like the reason you died was all based on the items you got, not on your skill.

The Verdict:

But in the end, it dosent matter how good your items are, if your dodge is completely off and you cant hit your tears, you will die. Over. And over. Again.

And oh, remember what i said about Rebirth keeping you up at night? Well, i didnt really tell the whole truth. This game is made by sick persons, for sick persons. The game is deeply disturbing and contains so much gore and blood, that even i had to look away times to times. This game is not for everyone.

And the RNG that may feel so frustrating at times, is the heart and the soul of The Binding of Isaac Rebirth. And so much of the games charm, replayability and joy would be taken away without it. Not knowing whats around the next corner, or in the next item room is exiting, and essential for the game.

Because in the end, what The Binding of Isaac Rebirth does so right is its amazing, addicting gameplay, charming art-style and endless replayability.

And if neither the disturbing visuals, the RNG or the rouge like gameplay scares you away from this title, there isnt much on Steam that can offer this amount of content, and pure joy for 15 euros.

9/10

Early Access Review
Reflex is a blast to play.

Actually, i dont think I've ever had this much fun since the old Quake days. Its simply an upgraded version of Quake 3 CPMA, which isnt a bad thing in any way. Actually, its quite the opposite. If you love fast paced, intense arena shooters, there isn't many games currently out on the market that can compete with Reflex. End of story.

With all of that said, Reflex is still in very early development stage. And the game lacks several key features that you expect from a modern game, like proper matchmaking. Of course, all this is gonna be implemented sooner or later. But if this bothers you, the game probably isn't for you in its current state.

But oh, The game is already so good. Everything from the skill-based movement, to the gunplay just feels great.

Arena fps games have been out of the spotlight for to long. All it needs is a little shove back in.
And if Reflex continues to build on its amazing core gameplay, im ready to say that Reflex may be that little boost that arena fps games have been wanting for so long.

If your a fan of arena fps games, buy it. For the love of god.

Dark Souls is hard.
You're going to die. A lot.
But please, dont be afraid.
Dont run in fear, like so many others do.
Instead, stay.
Try another way.
Again. And again. And again.
And finally, you shall win, and the beast you once feared called Dark Souls, will bend to your knees.
Because once you have tamed the beast, there are few other things in the gaming industry that can give you the same feeling of excitement, euphoria, and joy like Dark Souls can.

VVVVVV takes you back in time. Back to a time where games where simple, and didn't require any messy story, or fancy visuals to impress you. A time where gameplay was the number 1 priority, and king of games.
This is not a bad thing. Quite the opposite, actually.
With addicting, spot on retro style gameplay and visuals, VVVVVV is hard to put away.
And the amazing soundtrack really puts the nail in the coffin.

Are you looking for a real challenge?
Do you love platformers?
Have you got a local hospital?

If the answer includes one or more "yes" this game is for you.

10/10

PS. On a more serious note: a charming presentation, tight controls, brilliant level design, fantastic soundtrack and great value makes this game worth absolute every penny. Buy it!
