A quiet triumph for players who like to live in a world, not just sprint through it.

If you’re the kind of person who gets more satisfaction from building a moon base than chasing quest markers, Starfield will quietly sink its hooks into you.

Yes, the fast travel is an ode to loading screens. Yes, the game opens slowly. But beneath those surface complaints lies an immersive sim wrapped in a space exploration RPG — a game that rewards patience, curiosity, and a desire to carve out your own narrative.

This isn't a cinematic thrill ride; it's a system-driven experience where your choices, builds, and ambitions shape your own enjoyment. Whether you're designing outposts, tuning your ship, exploring skill trees, or getting lost in a derelict station — the game is strongest when you live in it, not just play through it. And for those parts that feel underbaked — clunky menus, UI friction, balance quirks — the modding community has stepped in with meaningful improvements, giving the game the long tail it was clearly built for.

The game doesn’t hold your hand. It doesn’t dazzle on command. But it lasts. You very much get out of it what you're willing to put in.

tl;dr - this is now a solid and fun Star Wars game, and you can safely ignore most of the criticisms that were said about it when it first launched

I didn't play the game at launch, so can't compare to what it *was* but I can say that the game it now *is* .. is pretty awesome. The "atmosphere" of being in the Star Wars universe is everywhere, and I found myself walking (instead of running) in a lot of environments just to soak it in. The fantasy of being in the universe is here in spades.

I also really enjoyed the story. I wasn't expecting much from an open world game, but what was there kept me engaged, and there were a couple twists I didn't see coming. It certainly wasn't perfect, but this is one of the few games I've played all the way through to the end credits recently, and that's saying quite a lot.

I may edit this review in the future, but for now I'm going to end it here because.. frankly.. I want to jump back in and play more of the side missions and find more hidden content!

Not what I expected when I first saw the trailers. This has proven to be an incredibly fun experience - at least with friends. I haven't tried single player, but coop is very engaging and fun!

Early Access Review
tl;dr - overall in a good state for being early access and worth a buy if you understand it's not complete yet but want to have fun now

The potential here is pretty staggering. Yes, there are technical issues - server "queues" are a pain and there are occasional network performance problems (some instances of rubber banding and hit registration desync). But the core here is quite solid. And it looks amazing. Definitely takes solid hardware to run well, but the lush detail and crazy draw distances are worth it. The open world is big, so very big. And to hear the devs tell it, this is only about 20% of the content they have planned. Like I said, the potential is amazing.

It will definitely take dedication and more time in the oven to reach that potential, but what's there already is eminently playable (and enjoyable!). If you're debating if Early Access is worth it, and have a decent rig, there's undeniably fun to be had here.

Icarus has come such a long way since release. It's genuinely an incredibly fun game and all too easy to get sucked into for hours at a time. Great survival crafting experience and team at RocketWerkz have been rockstars in the way they've continued to develop and support the game with consistent updates. Absolutely worth your time!

Lego. Star Wars. That's all I have to say about that.

Fun little production management game. There's some depth here, but it's masked behind a UI that's a touch clunky and doesn't always put the info you need in easy reach.

This one definitely has its hooks in me! The creative building aspect is something I can lose hours to on it's own. Add in the exploration, combat to keep it interesting, and the sheer scale of the thing, and you've got a winner.
