There is a lot of criticism about how this is not a proper Final Fantasy game, and I somewhat agree: you only control 1 character, combat is action-focused and there is barely any RPG mechanics, with upgrades being linear. So, I probably would have liked the game better if it were better in any of those aspects, but one of the things that kind of make up Final Fantasy for me are still there: a good narrative, good characters, and the whole 'fantasy' mythos, with the known names and creatures you already know, but now again in a completely new setting.
Also, it pretty much compensate the lack of summons in FFXV, with summons being a big part of the story this time.

Early Access Review
Mind you, I just played one hour, so perhaps the game gets better.
But in this state, I wouldn't recommend. Like some other review said: you never feel powerful, all you can do is run around, you can't even aim your weapons, and all upgrades are just +X% damage, +Y% reload speed, you never actually see your abilities change or rather, you never see those upgrade make a difference because you are always running from this near infinite swarm.
Also, since you have no active abilities or other tricks up your sleeve, sometimes you are exploring the arena and you just corner yourself with this big swarm behind you and there's nothing you can do except accept death.
I don't know, maybe down the line the game will get better, but it's just too early access for me.

I wouldn't recommend it. Bethesda game format has been stale for years, their engine is old and rusty, the story of the game is infantile at best. I played for 29 hours as of review and will continue playing, but mainly because I really like the space setting, but if you are looking for some deep RPG with a good story or something, go play Baldur's Gate 3 or Cyberpunk 2077, this ain't it.

It's incredible that in 2023 this is still better than a lot of AAA games coming out. This is definitely CDPR Magnum Opus and with CP2077 we can see they are already slipping. I hope their next Witcher game can hold a candle to this, but I sincerely think it will be a while until some game can capture players like this one did (perhaps Baldur's Gate 3 did it?)

I don't like the other From games because frankly, for me they are just too hard. And I also didn't play the previous AC games, so for me this was a weird purchase, mainly because I kinda like big robots. So if you are like me, I would recommend this game. The boss fights are kinda hard, but I don't think they are nearly as frustrating as the fights in the other games from FromSoftware (at least from what I know watching other people playing, since I gave up on Dark Souls and Sekiro early on). You get free revives at checkpoints and you can even change your build during those checkpoints, so I suppose it has the perfect amount of difficulty: you probably won't beat the boss on the first try, but it won't seem impossible and you won't get punished for failing, so in the end when you eventually get it, it will feel really good.

The game is kinda short. 5.5 hours playing it in a leisure pace and I finished, although did not 100% it.
The story is kinda cute, and the cat is beautifully animated. So if you are just looking for any 'good game' to play, I would not recommend it, but, if you like cats and want to relax (although there are some a little bit more tense parts) with an easy game and a cute little story, I would recommend it.

It's like Euro Truck Simulator, but in 2 hours you only drive 100m

Beautiful vistas, crazy story, annoying enemies, lots of chilling.

It's CoD. Invasion is pretty fun, and Ground War is better than Battlefield 2042. So if you are a Battlefield refugee like me, after that awful new game, I recommend this. The TTK is insanely lower than BF, but you get used to it, and at least to me, it scratches that 'objective shooter' itch.

It's pretty good. If you want something simple that works system-wide and for games/apps not on Steam, I highly recommend this. It's a lot simpler than Steam Input, but if all you need is to move your mouse with your controller and click/right-click and type simple stuff, it works great.
Also, ignore my play-time, I used the setting where it doesn't appear as 'playing Controller Companion' on Steam.
