This game is a reskin of 2020. If you own F1 2020, do not buy 2021.

The "Braking point" story mode was very hyped by the ads and the media, but truth it, the storytelling was really, really bad. Worse than your infamous Netflix DTS episodes, with a cringeworthy solution of the plot conflict.

Some features which are easy to implement are not present, like the changes that some tracks had for this year (Australia and UAE for example). Some features were removed for no reason at all because we are running in the same old engine (Classic cars, short circuit versions, etc).

And the worst of all, which really makes me peeved, is the fact that we still have all the same bugs from way back to F1 2017.

New release, same mistakes. It's unbeliavable that the game is again, released in a unfinished state. Just like AOE1 and AOE2, there are a ton of bugs and gliches. Problem is, AOE2 is extremely popular all-time (The population remained on Voobly until the patches arrived), while AOE3 was always the black sheep of the family - This rushed release might have killed the game right on arrival.

I'm glad that AOE4 has a different company developing it.

Pros:
- New civs are cool
- The new revolution system makes it a lot more viable to revolt, giving more variety (it's not a suicide or a meme anymore)
- The homecity level grinding is finally gone. (Hell, we are all adults nowadays, screw the hours of comp stomp to level up)
- Historical battle scenarios are good adittions

Cons:
- Several bugs and problems with online experience, similar to what happened with AOE2DE, hopefully will be solved by a patch.
- Several problems with sound effects, with some weird fading-return of the music, and odd click effects on the options menu, loud as a earrape.
- The voice changes from the lakota/haudenosaunee are terrible. It feels like the devs only had budget to hire one single voice actor to make all lines from all units mumbling. I will refuse to play with those civs until mod support is online to swap the clips to the original.
- Misguided choices of balance changes will bring problems. Although we are glad that cuir insta-train is gone, there are some other beasts that will appear. Granadiers will become the meta.
- Bad optimization, with several users reporting problems with superior hardware.
- AI is a lot worse than the original
- The new fur trading mechanic is just cringe. If they could'nt find a balanced way to remove mining for natives, they should had just given up.
- Some physics of the game seem to be removed, especially the ship damage from naval battles.
- Incredible gliches, like un-stoppable shift-clicking, and villagers refusing to continue to gather a similar resource which is right next to it. (for example, stop hunting animals when there is one alive right in front of the vil, stop chopping wood inside a forest)
- lmao commerce age

Hopefully this review bombing that's been going on will cause an reaction by the devs to get their ♥♥♥♥ together.
