Nice little indie game, but don’t expect to follow any teams on Stargate SG-1-like adventures, you are basically doing the job of General Hammond and communicating via radio signals, plus base building.

Micromanagement is part of the game. I agree the UI could be better, but you sometimes need to reshuffle your teams based on their relationship and force them to take breaks, change their training patterns and which task they need to perform. Sometimes it is better to have a scientist at home doing all the research and bio samples and let the Gaters focus on training and relaxation.

I only encountered minor bugs, usually resolved by saving and reloading the game, nothing game breaking as other reviewers have mentioned. Played both normal with (50 Gaters limit) and Free mode with unlimited Gaters (70+) now.

From some negative reviews I have the following tips:

Never use experienced teams for low level mining or scientific expeditions, this is a job for new Gaters with low level. It’s a good way to get them leveled up and your A team can focus on exploring new worlds.

Don’t overwork your robots, if you have a few then only expand your base slowly, else they won’t be able to repair any objects when you suddenly start building large rooms, then you might lose one or two generators.

Replace small generators ASAP, 6 small generators are harder to maintain than 4 medium or 2 large.

Revealing the map. As soon as you have explored a planet, connect and disconnect to all the planets connected, this will reveal large parts of the map and set your expansion strategy. Don’t send good teams to explore planets with a low level, leave these planets for later (if possible), for new teams or teams with new Gaters.

Trade with Alien fractions as soon and much as possible!

AMD graphic card owners should activate AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 (or better), running the game in full screen for better performance. Having around 70 Gaters running 60 FPS on average (locked at 60).

This game is pretty much Theme Hospital inspired with it's wacky machines and gadgets, but with great voice acting and better stories.

Missing some quality of life updates, like skipping to the next doctor without clicking on the list. But maybe I have just not found it yet, took me some time before I noticed the template option, making building much faster and easier.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - Online

UPDATE:
******************************************************************************************
Don't buy this Game for the Online part - it's broken.

Modders thinking they are hackers are currently flooding the online part of the game. In the last two weeks I played 24.7 hrs, but run into them daily now, a lot of my play time is respawning, reporting, recording and reloading when looking for a new session.
******************************************************************************************
The online part is full of griefer, no real penalty for "playsers" shooting up a town and lassoing players. Even the press charges and parley system is a joke. When I use parley I spawn so far away from the place where I was, that half of the parley time is used to ride back to the place where you got killed. When you defend yourself they spawn so close that you cannot even jump on your hose to get away. You can kill a town of AI and your Bounty will still be so low, that no Bounty Hunter (AI) will come after you.

Getting disconnections losing the stuff you had one your horse (when out hunting), when you join the game again you might end up some other place. Sometimes I need to restart the came, because I have no camp, camp is moving around from one area of the map to another. Joined the game going to my camp, started where I left the game last time (that was my camp) but now have to use $ to fast travel to a new place.

Also bugs in missions, cannot pick up supplies, my horse get stucked between clip scenes or cannot talk with the last person in a mission.

Buy this game for Single Player only, seems the online part is just made to sell GOLD for real money.

Review as Casual Gamer
The Game is fun in the beginning and with friends that are on your level.

Playing against others online is fun, but the whole ranking system is broken. This game is nothing for casual gamers, who just want some fun matches. The reason behind this, is the ranking system, no matter what you will rank up.

With time you will become Pro or Veteran and you will play against people, who actually know how to play and fly around.
Since I do only play it casually, I get killed on the playing field.
While the game brands me as a Veteran, I am basically only Semi-Pro (lower end), but I have to play against other Veterans, Masters and Legends some.

Eventually, your rank will increase (with time), to a point where this game is unplayable for casual Gamers.

I wish the game would give negative points for losing (or quitting when you are behind) so that I will not automatically increase my rank with time. Good players will still become legends and Veterans and casual gamers will be in their own League, remaining on Rookie or Semi-Pro and have fun playing against people are on their level.

Fun with friends
Frustrating and unbalanced when playing normal multiplayer.
As the Killer, you can spend most of your time running after one person and breaking pallets, while the other 3 have broken all hooks. When you finally catch a survivor, your team-mates will come for the rescue. The only way to at least hope for a pity victory is to camp the survivor, but be prepared for some rude comments after it.
Or you can run after another survivor well knowing that it’s a decoy to get you away from the wounded survivor so that he can be healed and run out the exit. While you run after the decoy survivor and smash more pallets.

As a survivor, its exiting in the beginning hiding from the killer, but as soon as you have a good crew you never get out with less than 3 survivors. They take out all the hooks making it impossible for the killer to hook you, so the killer can try to get you to the basement (but he will never make it) or he can let you on the ground and camp. Then we can complain him that he is a camper afterwards, even I don’t know what else he could have done. Unless run after another survivor knowing that he will never catch him in time, and that the wounded one will be healed in no time and on the way out of the exit.

At the lunch the Game was missing something, but Paradox is listening to their customers and after Patch 1.2 the game has become quite fun. I cannot wait for the new features and game changes in the next Patch 1.3 Heinlein. There are still some small bugs that are a little annoying, but as far as I know it from Paradox these things will be worked out.
I used to play Space Empires V, Galactic Civilizations I & II (didn’t buy GC III yet) but if you are into games like that, you should give this game a try after Patch 1.3 comes out.
I haven’t tried any mods yet, but have some on the wishlist for the next Multiplayer map.

When I first saw pictures of this game, I thought it was a crappy RPG. So I didn't really care. Then I was watching a Let's Play on Youtube (MathasGames) and I bought it right away.
I am hooked – the only thing stopping me playing this game, is my slow laptop. When I buy a new machine, I will be right back.
