Pirate Yakuza leans more into the wacky side of the Like A Dragon/Yakuza series, and it works well for the setting and gameplay. It's half brawler and half pirate ship combat, with both modes being pretty fun but not amazing. Also there are some weird side quests like normal. I enjoyed it enough to get all the achievements

One of my favorite Assassin's Creed games, right up there with Black Flag. Exploration is fun and has good variety, and the graphics are amazing. The world feels a lot more alive.

You do have to murder a lot of guards that don't seem to be particularly evil to progress the story, there's not really any way to be nonviolent

Probably my favorite first person action RPG, the combat and exploration are both great. The structure of the game is linear as you progress through 4 large zones, but you have a fair amount of control over the narrative and I was satisfied with the options available to me. I did basically 100% of the content in 60 hours, on hard difficulty which felt good.

Do you like rolling weird objects around a psychedelic landscape with good semi-ambient music? Then buy this. It's kind of like Super Monkey Ball but extremely weird. I collected "self" and it did nothing.

In the end I really enjoyed both the plot and the gameplay of Metaphor and I can recommend it for anyone who likes the gameplay of an Atlus RPG, but doesn't really want to hang around a bunch of high schoolers. The setting is a fantasy version of the late 1700s, where kingdoms are moving towards democracy and disorder, and it takes advantage of that scenario to work through a few interesting themes (and a few overdone ones like the power of friendship). The gameplay is fast-paced but turn based JRPG combat with a heavy emphasis on status effects and elemental attributes. I played it on Hard which I recommend for anyone who will want to explore all the content, because this has much nicer auto save and combat restart than older Persona games.

Overall one of my favorite games of the year and well worth finishing

Solid idle game with some interesting variety as every class plays a bit differently and has unique spells. It starts very manual so I had to use an auto clicker for the first few hours, but after that it starts opening up new mechanics and gets interesting.

The stats are a bit confusing, I wish it gave me some more raw numbers

A hybrid between an action RPG and Minecraft, with placement of a lot of different tile types on a grid. You do RPG-style quests for characters and solve puzzles by building in the right places. You alternate between specific zones where you learn new recipes and a free build area where you can mostly build whatever you want. A highlight is extending a partially built very large castle. It's a relaxing game overall with lots of creativity.

The main downsides are that the combat is very basic and button mashy, and sometimes there's too much dialog to button through. Definitely recommended overall

There are 50 different games, and if you like indie games at all you can easily find 10 or so that you will enjoy. The art and sound really sell the concept, and there is a ton of content as well as a bunch of extra secrets.
