So I a fanboy when it comes to Rune Factory even though I only played 4 I would like to preface this review with that knowledge.
This is a game like harvest moon but with levels for everything a better combat system and imo more fleshed out character arcs (even though this specfic game pushes the furry line a little to hard). It a hard recommend if you like HM games but want more to do. There is also a pretty decent length story that has multiple arcs in it as well and from what I have played it is very RF.

The biggest grip with this game is the animation / overall graphics. It is very obvious that the team hasn't worked with 3D before and this most have been a huge adjustment. that's why I am personally giving this game a pass, as long as this is a stepping stone for things to come from Marvelous I could get behind it. but RF 6 if it comes out needs better animations.

that being said. here are my current CONS

be forwarned that they look like robots in literally every scene and when they turn they just kinda pivot its to the point that I would rather skip the prerendered cutscenes and story then watch Darroch walk slowly like hes doing a drunk line test to the other side of the room.

Then fighting system is pretty basic early on you seem to stagger everything making it easy to get the early levels.

The sound system could be redone hearing the same line 5 or 6 times while farming gets old pretty quick.

for some reason some lines are voiced in the story but not all of them its weird listening to something then actually having to read. this could be because subtitles are on by default though.

Everything is a loading screen. by this I mean like you get new farm plots but it blocked by a loading screen to get to them so you have to go through 2 screens just to farm everyday if you use them. you have an overworld but its really just a big hub world. that take you to diffrent levels.

PROS

Pretty large map to run around in. not everything is blocked off right off the bat fun to die to the overleveled creatures cause you went the wrong way.

the companion system and capture system is a neat feature.

The days feel pretty long and there is so much you can do.

A very indepth min max system for people that would like to use it.

Charecters have personality and are fun to talk to.

I haven't put much time into this game as other reviewers, but I want to say that this is up there in my list of favorite games. definitely in the top 10. your probably going to ask why and I'll tell you. The short story,

"This is the most accurate zombie game you will play" -Me 2019

I'm serious when i say that while this game looks like something that was made in the in 1998; its also got the game play, and devotion from that era as well. it doesn't feel like a quick cash grab, like most of these modern zombie games. it also doesn't hand hold you while you play, or sugar coat it. the game reminds you every single time that you WILL make a mistake, you WILL die and you Will lose everything*.

I've played a lot of zombie games and I have to say that I haven't played a game with as much devotion to the survival aspect and aftermath of a zombie outbreak. its not about killing zombies, its more about keeping them at bay for as long as possible. Trying to survive without being found out. no other zombie games i have played let you play through the inital outbreak. cut the water and power on you a few weeks in. take away the stuff you take for granted like hot food, clean clothes, lights, entertainment, and clean water.

Also unlike other games they don't force you to be found either. Yeah there are events which 'could' lead a hoard closer, but overall they move towards sounds and lights. all of which are made by the player. if your not keeping a lookout you'll be your own demise.

There is so much more I can talk about, the music, atmosphere, and the class customization are all superb, but I want you all to experience it for your selves. so I'll leave my parting review.

"This is the FTL of zombie games. its fun, addictive, and you'll constantly be coming back for more."

*if you host a private game you can load back in if you die.

if you ever wanted to be action figures vaulting over cardboard boxes and fighting off hordes of enemies just to protect an objective like you're the main character in an upcoming classic GI: Joe movie then this game is for you.

I haven't put a ton of time into this game, but I can assure you it is worth way more than the 15$ you are going to spend. The update that it recently received could be considered a new game in itself with only the feel of the original lingering in the air.

HyperCharge: Unboxed is best played with friends but is completely enjoyable just by yourself.
it is an incredibly cool take on the original tower defense games, and while this genre has been done before. The dev team has out done themselves by making this game a unique experience for the player.

The graphics are an amazing. first off, while they are pretty realistic you will still get this feeling that you’re just a plastic doll running around the map. a lot of the things you can jump on and identify throughout the map push that art choice. That allows you to get extremely immersed in the game; even before you start the tower defense aspect of it.

The defense aspect of it isn't anything too new at least on the surface, each character before playing can select 3 cards to take with them to build with. each card is a defense which will impede or attack enemies before they reach the core. The main difference from other games is that you also get your own weapon which can have at least two different gun types attached to it. this setup allows for a lot of customization between players.

this leads into the gameplay, which is an incredible mix of strategy and just plain fun when playing with your friends. For each level there are 3 different difficulties with 3 different medals for each that you can earn. Medals are achieved by how many objectives are left standing by the end. My only grip right now with the gameplay is that it needs a mode where the waves don’t end for each level. that would make playing levels over again more enjoyable.

Don't listen to other reviews telling you to buy the first, I bought both games during the winter sale and this by far is the better of the two, even in early access. Just the open-mic makes this version superior to original.

the Open-Mic allows the game to take audio from your desktop or your mobile device if you have an in-line connection (spoiler: most modern motherboards do). Then it goes beyond that by using a third party to find out the song you are playing. allowing you to battle other peoples scores!
