As much as I loved this game, I cannot recommend it as it is right now. The amount of glitches and bugs make this game almost unplayable. I could go on with specific examples such as many side quests, that are simply most of time frozen and you are stuck at the objective, which exists on the map but not in the world for some reason, like the bees and honey quest, which was mentioned on several forums since 2017 and nobody bothered to fix it. Motigene Gives You Wings freezes the character and you are unable to talk to him to complete the quest. Superb Meat Boy quest breaks through the last cutscene and therefore you are unable to complete it. You can even accidently fail a quest as you get attacked by people or characters are stuck inside the walls. Not mentioning the worst and most frustrating glitch I experienced half way through the first Act - save option being disabled. No matter what I did, restarting the game, killing myself/restarting the level, taking and completing quests, moving from one district to another, entering buildings etc the game did NOT allow me to manually save the progress. It did fortunatelly autosaved after completing the quests, but when I tried to exit the game, the message popped up saying that the game cannot be saved because the character is busy or something like that.

Overall performance issues, unstable FPS, many technical problems, blurred textures, invisible obstacles, frozen animations, broken quests and game breaking issues. Sometimes the cutscene ends but the game doesn't detect it and you are stuck in the letterbox view with and not being able to move. It's a real shame, because the game has a big potential, great creepy atmosphere and beautiful detailed sceneries. If you like Fallout, Bioshock, Bendy and Ink Machine sort of games, you would love this game for sure! British themes and voice actings are amazing, and it's one of the reasons I kept playing this game.

But let's face it, this is unaccaptable to sell broken and unfinished game for THAT price, this is just an insult to all gamers

First chapter looked promising. Nice graphics, amazing atmosphere, perfect mood for horrorish game with puzzle elements. But the longer you play the game the more issues you can discover. There are lots of glitches and game breaking bugs that will force you to start over from beginning. That also means you can't get certain achievements unless you play the entire chapter without dying AND without quiting the game, because reloading the game restores all background props to their original form such as opened doors or destroyed planks. You can't save progress if you select a chapter. You can save the game manually at certain 'checkpoint stations' and the game autosaves randomly between objectives and there is no option to turn the autosave off. Enemy combat is unbalanced and you sometimes hit the enemy and they receive no damage. Opening menu interface during the gameplay may occassionally freeze the screen and you cannot return to game or click any menu options. I once experienced a glitch where the game was unpaused but the menu interface stayed on the screen with ESC key not working anymore at this point, therefore forcing me to manually shut down the game (ALT+F4). It really bothers me because if these bugs were fixed, the game would be perfect. I don't want to restart the game from chapter 1 for the third time just to get one achievement in chapter 3 due to constant gltiches and saves not working for props and doors (even with manual saves)

First of all, this is not exactly a game, but rather a interactive video, you follow the plot with clicks, where you can make choices of-course that have different outcomes, but in the end we all know how this is going to end. There is no challenge, you can't die in this 'game' unlike the original LiS. There is no trial and error, where, if failed, you must restart from the checkpoint. You just simply follow the objectives on the screen, even if you choose wrong, you can still continue and choose another option till you get it right. The chapters themselves are quite short compared to the first game, the first episode doesn't reveal anything important, except for the origin of Chloe's famous quote 'hella'. The only good part of it was the D&D part. The stretched out cutscenes make it feel longer than it actually is. Voice actors are different - okay, there were some strikes and protests or whatever, but come on, Chloe Price without Ashly Burch voice is not Chloe Price. Developers could just delay the game a bit longer. As much as I love LiS this is one of the unnecessary games. The key element of the first game was the 'rewind' ability which made the game unique. In this game all you get is the 'talk back' ability. I understand that Chloe can't have the same ability as Max, especially if it takes 3 years before the events of the first game, otherwise it could conflict with events established in the first game that take place later (duh), but it just proves my point. The game doesn't provide the same amount of emotions the first game did. LiS had moments that actually made me very sad or even nearly cry. LiS: BtS didn't really make me feel sad, but whether that's a good thing or bad thing - you be the judge. And it takes place 3 years before LiS right? Well, every single character (maybe expect for Chloe) in the game looks exactly the same, not even slighlty younger - 16-19 is not 40-43. so there should be some distinctive differences. I'm not hating the game, I'm just pointing out the elements that bother me. There are many good things about this game though. The game atmophere is great. Graphics and music keep the style of the original LiS game. There are many nods and references to LiS and Max. The BtS story is interesting, but quite short. It took me less than a day to complete all 3 episodes. But it's cheap. And you can also change your outfit that could actually affect some people' reactions. If you are a real fan of Life Is Strange then you will enjoy it, just don't expect it to be as stunning, plot-twisting and unexpected as the first game.
