This is about on par with a beginner's escape room experience IRL. Everything you need to escape a room is pretty much provided for you, so long as you can solve the requisite puzzles. Solutions don't change for subsequent playthroughs, which can be nice for 100% completion. I used hints when I just needed to know *where* something would be and not for the answer, because sometimes you just miss things that are a little out of view. Short and sweet, I'd give it a go if you're not sure about how you feel for these kinda games, and then probably give some of the other titles in the genre a go. This is beginner territory but it gives you a good feel for the kind of thinking required.

Genuinely a treat to play. Think The Outer Wilds' premise with a Dishonored approach to gameplay. Slabs are nice to compliment different playstyles. I had a heavy reliance on the cloaking and blinking Slab, and finding a silenced pistol early on made some parts trivial. Don't use those and the game will maintain some level of difficulty, but you'll likely still be breezing past the grunts in the late game. Fun time overall.

Fun, short, plays similarly to Case of the Golden Idol but with a much friendlier UI. Voice acting is very good but the game is so short that the characters don't really get much time to shine outside of a few "EGADS" moments.

Fairly short deduction game that involves a lot of thinking and attention to detail. If you're a fan of logic puzzles and who-dun-its, this might scratch that your itch, but only for a short while. There is a hint system if you're stuck on a puzzle, and its a simple matching game of names of items or people to their respective image. There is no fail state and no reason to not use the hint system aside from pride, but some of the hints can also be very cryptic, so don't expect them to solve the problems you're having right away.

Very good game, can't wait to see what's next.

I recommend this mostly out of support for the creators. This game is not for people looking for an in-depth experience nor for those that want the same experience as the Zero Escape or Danganronpa series.

Death Come True is essentially the next logical step for visual novels - that is to say, DCT is a movie with diverging choices. In a similar vein to Netflix's Bandersnatch, DCT will play footage automatically until certain points, where you can make a choice that affects the story.

The story and choices that you make aren't the most in-depth nor are they the most compelling. I feel like if I weren't playing with someone else to bounce ideas off of, the game would get bland very fast. That said, I enjoyed the time we spent deliberating on the mysteries of DCT. I think the devs and writers took too many cues from modern moviemakers, as a lot of the heavy plot points are telegraphed so hard that it was difficult to not see the end result from a mile away.

That said, I did enjoy the time I spent playing through DCT and for its price point, I don't think its much of a stretch to call it an interactive DVD movie. If that's appealing to you, or you just want to support Tookyo Games' newest title, pick this one up, possibly on sale.

dead multiplayer, but at 5 bucks you shouldn't have any issues getting a few friends to buy in. neat little party game but if you're expecting to play randoms you're ♥♥♥♥ out of luck.

gameplay is absolutely solid though, and scratches the arena shooter itch just right,

Despite seeing all the negative reviews, I decided to give this game the benefit of the doubt and try it out.

Sort of a mistake.

My first issue is that the training mode is very bare. I don't expect much since it's focused on a very esports-y community, but that should mean that we get the barest features like control over what the bot does and resetting the stage (as of right now it just turns the bot into a dummy AI). You can use every character in training to get a feel for their movesets, so that's a nice touch.

The cast is pretty diverse if not mishmashes of existing Smash characters. From their normals to specials to mechanics, you can tell which moves were ripped from which characters. Ashani is a Captain Falcon. Xanu is Ganondorf. Afi & Galu are Pikachu/Luigi, Fox, and Ice Climbers/Rosalina & Luma mixed together. Kidd and Raymer are Fox and Falco. Zhurong and Weishan are Ike and Marth. They aren't so much rips of the characters as much as they are *too* inspired by them. You can look at gameplay of one of them and think "Oh that's just Fox", even if there's a little more to the character than what might be shown.

Also, characters are blocked behind $5 paywalls, or you can pay $25 dollars for all characters. The game also gives you a free character of your choice at level 2 (which is your first couple of online matches) and another at 15 (not sure if there's any beyond that). You can unlock colors, emotes, icons, etc with in-game currency that you can earn through online matches (local play doesn't earn currency and any locked characters remain locked). If this doesn't sound like something for you, then consider that you most likely won't be playing all characters seriously, and if you think you might, then you can just pay the $25 dollars for the "full" experience or grind it out. Decent Free-To-Play model if a bit tedious.

All actions feel very unresponsive to me. I'm not sure if it's input lag (using Xbox 360 via USB) or if the characters are intentionally designed to do everything half a second (exaggerated, as someone said it's about 6 frames atm) after you push the button. Jumping from the ground and dodging from shield feels equally unresponsive across the cast. I'm sure you can get used to it over time but personally, the feeling doesn't mesh with me very well. Dodging in particular feels really awkard for me, but maybe that's because I'm not used to rapid stick flicks. Air Dodging feels like it takes an eternity, but I think that's because it stops most of your momentum and lasts maybe .75 seconds. Not sure how many of those frames are I-Frames, but it doesn't seem generous. The more I play the more it feels a little more natural, but it felt really foreign to me.

Tried out a few games of online, and honestly my net was pretty bad so I wouldn't take it as any metric. I will say that at a stable 60 ping there were lots of spikes that lasted for way too long. Not sure if Casual matchmaking dumps you into any match or if you can queue up for specific player numbers, but all I got were 1v1s which is fine, but it feels way less casual imo.

I didn't give this game enough of a chance when I first wrote this review, but after more fiddling with the game I can tell that there is something there. It's a diamond deeply buried in the rough, and it'll take lots of digging and polishing to get this game to where it needs to be.

After two expansions and multiple promos and events, I'd say that Eternal is standing its ground as a very good card game alternative for those that don't quite like the RNG elements of games like Hearthstone and Shadowverse.

Coming from the doors of the closed beta, I can vouch for the progress this game has made. Developers Direwolf Digital have done a fantastic job translating the Magic the Gathering experience even better than some of the official MtG games. The game rewards you quite well early on, giving you five starter decks for completing story quests, with more theme decks available for purchase both with premium currency (Gems) as well as the in-game currency (Gold) for reasonable prices (~$2.50 USD each).

The game offers a few different modes of play, split between Single-Player and Multi-Player, and each of them offer even more ways to play. Each mode offers some sort of reward regardless of your performance (exceptions being failing a Puzzle or losing the first game in the Gauntlet), and the rewards are very generous compared to other card games.

As a card game, Eternal is great. It's a cheap and entertaining alternative to Magic the Gathering, and its various modes of play offer lots of replayability if you can get past the typical initial grind of a F2P game.
