I've played thousands of hours of Rise on the Nintendo Switch. I loved it there, I love it even more on Steam.

i like the classic polygonal look and the original score more. but this is a nice, faithful tribute to those old games that i grew up with. spyro was actually my first video game and it helped me learn how to read. its nice to play a version that's meant for a modern audience. i hope the kids of today can pick this up and enjoy it just like i did when i was teensy.

i'll still be going back to the originals over this though. sorry toys for bob, you did an amazing job but you just cant replace spyro's cute little origami low textured look in my heart.

Similar to Sid Meier's Civilization, the mantra is, "Just one more turn..."

But instead of turns, it is ducks.

I had fun while I played it, but it was too difficult for me to get much enjoyment out of it. I like a good challenge, but this type of difficulty felt more frustrating than intriguing. It felt to me like the controls were on the stiff side and movement was laborious. At times it also felt like I was reaching my whole entire hand across the keyboard to do things when better mapping could have been the default. (That's on me though - I probably could have done that to enhance my gameplay experience but that wouldn't have made my turns smoother.)

Basically imagine you're playing as a tank on legs but it's even slower and is worse at making turns.
