Wow wow wow. I bought this game 3 years ago and haven't really touched it until two days ago but this is genuinely one of the most fun experiences I've had in a long time. I'm excited to play this. It's a bit janky and buggy but it has a lot of character and depth to it. Might have to make a video review at some point.

Games wants you to do longshots with snipers which are snipes beyond 50m. Most maps are like 55m long.

Played this because Total War Shogun 2 doesn't work anymore. I really wish Shogun 2 still worked because I think its a superior game.

Played legendary difficulty and felt forced to spam armies of archers with some shield infantry to tank. Gameplay became boring fast because of that. Infantry are too weak to overcome hidden stat modifiers. Infantry battles take ages and I feel that even when I get a surround using tactics such as hammer and anvil the enemy doesn't break even if they get charged in the back. Also somehow polearm infantry struggle against cavalry.

The unit diversity is a mirage. Many are redundant and don't fill unique niches. The benefits of hiring higher cost units are for better stats but they play the same way. Compare that to Shogun 2 where spear infantry had 4 different types and they all played a different role (i.e. Ashigaru to hold the line, Spear Samurai to catch Cavalry, Naginata Samurai to tank, Naginata Warrior Monks to fight on flanks and cause routs).

Maybe I haven't played enough to understand this game on a deeper level but after 40 hours I've had enough.

It's like be in a toxic relationship.

If you do well they punish you like a jealous partner. You must play their way. That is, you need the ghost and covert sneakers perks, the fastest TTK gun, and low cost killstreaks otherwise. If you do well, SOMEHOW IMMEDIATELY the next game your opponents are significantly harder and your ping and connection become worse. The reason why you keep playing is because you've been conditioned to stay hoping that they will change or for a return to the good ole days like it use to be when you first met.

Love this game. Discovered handgonnes with the DLC and 90% of fights became trival with pike and shot tactics like they used back in the day.

Very fun and action packed.
