Another solid port by Square Enix. No issues on my end.
Fun game.

Long time DW fan, but this isn't it. Combat is usually the highlight but it's so bad here.
Glad we got a demo, saved me some money, unwishlisted.

Still miss turn-based FFs, but this is an improvement over the last several games.

Game looked beautiful. Characters this time around actually was interesting and the story very heartfelt. This hooked me right away, something that both FF13 & FF15 failed to do.

R5 3600 paired with an RTX 3060. Performance is pretty good. No real issues on that front. One of the more solid PC ports from Square Enix in a while.

Final Fantasy IX remains one of my favorite entries in the entire series. Everything about it is great but mods like Memoria and Moguri really breathe some modern air into the game to make it look even better along with some nice quality of life features like higher fps gameplay and fmvs, widescreen, manual trance so it's not wasted on random mobs, etc.

Wish we could get a new FF, or even simply any jrpg that paid homage to or utilized what makes FF9 so great. I miss the old ATB system and turn-based style of FF as does a lot of the fandom. Something like Lost Sphear or I am Setsuna is probably the closest things Square Enix has done in recent years but they don't really live up to FF9.

Because of the modding capability, obviously the Steam version of the game is the best way to play this classic title. Looking forward to replaying it yet again sometime in the future once the voice mod Echo-S is completed to see how much full voice acting might add to the game.

The demo for 16 hooked me and made me go from "meh idk about this" to "preorder and play day one".

I've got a R5 3600 paired with a RTX 3060 and was getting a stable 80+ fps with mostly max settings. Performance was great. Game looked beautiful. Characters this time around actually was interesting and the story very heartfelt. This hooked me right away, something that both FF13 & FF15 failed to do.

Another excellent entry in this long running series.
A great start to a new arc that is refreshing to behold.

Van is a much needed breath of fresh air. Being older than your usual protagonist and this time actually having a personality of his own.

The changes to the orbment system took a little bit to get accustomed to, but it's a nice change of pace and requires a bit more thought in placement.

The action combat can feel extremely button mashy at times, but it helps with the monotonous feeling you often get with trash mobs and the option to jump into the regular command battle is a nice. I'm glad they didn't do away with it entirely.

Overall, this is on up there and probably my 3rd favorite entry of the Trails series.

Grew popularity on Steam, then sold their soul to EGS and delisted the game on Steam. Now requires 3rd Party EGS Account to log into the game, and lots of added microtransactions make the game just absolutely not worth playing. Just an absolute shady cashgrab.

Absolute blast. Loving every moment of it. Combat is fun, reminiscent of Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger. The sprite work and lighting are phenomenal. If you enjoy turn-based jrpgs, love pixel games, selecting your own upgrade stats on level up, or enjoy successfully timing attacks and blocks then you're sure to enjoy this little gem.
