I know the cause it's for, but that doesn't excuse the poor product.

I didn't find it emotionally 'grabbing' at all. The only thing I could think of was how cheesy everything was.
The only feeling I had was when the game ended a few minutes in; a feeling of relief that I didn't have to play this game anymore.

Finally I could argue that this isn't a real game because [insert reason here], but there are a lot of games recently released that don't fit the traditional 'game' definition and are an enjoyable experience. Unforunately this game just isn't one of them.

One of those games that people will argue isn't a game. It's basically an 'exploration' game (i.e. a linear path with a story that unfolds alongside it, with no difficulty or skill requirements present).

The first thing that struck me about the game was its attention to realism. It looks crisp and detailed (with the exception of some low resolution textures designed for models that aren't supposed to be interacted with). For example food items have a full nutritional label, and the items that represent a piece written by a child (and thus poor hand writing) is as convincing as possible.

I thought the narration was perfectly done, making it convinving and thus the game more realistic and immersive.

Of course the story is what this game is about. To be honest it's more or less generic if I think about it, but while I'm being honest, I'm not going to deny that I loved it.

I'd recommend it, but if you're looking for a 'game', don't expect much.
