**POST DEMOCRATIC SUCCESS EDIT** - Snoy have been defeated and democracy can now be spread throughout the galaxy once again. Well done to all the other Helldivers out there (and Arrowhead) for pushing for this win for all of us! Original review and first edit being kept in for historical purposes.

**EDIT** - I'm leaving my original review underneath this edit because when I bought and first played the game it was a true representation of how I felt. However, with the recent stupid decision by Snoy, they have completely ruined this incredible game for me (and what feels like the entire Helldivers community). Thanks Snoy, you've just destroyed what many considered to be a perfect game...

**ORIGINAL REVIEW ** - For democracy! Honestly a great game, don't know why its getting such mixed reviews. It's the perfect blend of EDF meets Starship Troopers

War Thunder has long been a labour of love when it comes to trying to enjoy it. I'm a fan of military hardware and almost nothing comes close when looking at this level of sim, obviously purely dedicated sim titles will have an advantage, but they usually only focus on one aspect of warfare rather than broad spectrum.

War Thunder did however go through an ever increasing spiral of grind culture, the game was becoming practically impossible to progress unless you invested money into it. Of course it's a free to play game with incentives to provide players an easy progression curve through premium accounts and vehicles, but War Thunder got to a point where premium wasn't an option but rather a requirement.

This in the end after so much bottling up from the community, exploded into one of the biggest game boycotts in recent history! And although Gaijin's initial response was poor, I'm glad to see the new roadmap they've put in as well as the fact that they are sticking to it and releasing steady updates to make the overall game play and progression loops more enjoyable for all (premium and f2p).

I hope that Gaijin have learnt from this and will continue to keep their playerbase in mind when releasing future content or making progression based changes. War Thunder is starting to become an enjoyable experience once again.

What a remake, you've truly pulled it out of the bag this time Capcom! Keep this level of polish and attentiveness going forward.

Though I've been playing it and to an extent enjoying it, I cannot get over the massively glaring issues that this game currently suffers from:

- No ultrawide support (Game renders at ultrawide, they just put black bars on the screen regardless)
- Capped at 60 frames (The best sign of a bad and lazy console port)
- Random frame drops (Considering the game sometimes requires frame perfect play, this is game breaking at times)

The souls games have all been brought to the PC market and with the original series I accepted that they might be poor ports, but the remasters (that were outsourced) show that it's perfectly possible to port these games well and with all the support the PC platform needs/deserves. Modders have already - within 10 hours of release - fixes ALL of the problems above, but thanks to EAC being part of this new title we cannot take advantage of that without the risk of being banned... So you either fix it but never get to play with other players, or you leave it in it's currently horrible state and play with others.

An amazing game that brings a loved classic back to life in a big way, sure it's got a few janky bugs here and there, but the developers have been extremely vocal with the community since release and I'm confident that things will be patched quickly and efficiently.

Also getting to play with multiple friends on the same carrier makes the experience vastly more enjoyable overall!

Aside from the bugs and glitches (of which none I have experienced to be game breaking) it's a fantastic game. Amazing visuals, story, half decent gameplay loop. Here's hoping CDPR patch out the bad and make it better,

A game that I originally disliked on it's original release due to being hugely un-optimised, network framework was trash and the bugs were riff. I personally believe it's safe to say that the game not only survived it's turbulent release, but has also thrived over the years it's been out, largely dealing with the concerns I had that initially drove me away from this game.

My only warning would be that the community can be a bit hit and miss, and it seems to be extremely easy to run into super salty individuals if a game doesn't go their way, so just be prepared for some serious keyboard warriors out there.

Other than that, grab some friends and play 4 man survivor or go at it solo as the killer. Good times to be had!

Updating my review since completing the game a couple of times.

Is the game bad? No
Could it have been better? Most definitely yes
Was it a rushed released? Almost certainly

Let's break it down a bit. Resident Evil 3 is not a bad game, but it is also not the perfect remake, having to follow in RE2's very successful remake release it was a tough call going in and I feel like Capcom made several mistakes along the way.

The Good:

- Not among the list of these mistakes is the fact that RE3 remake is action based, anyone who says this as a complaint about the game has clearly never played the original at all. RE3 original was the most action orientated of the original trilogy and I believe Capcom did a good job of continuing to capture the feel of this in the remake, even keeping in the dodge mechanics was a nice touch.
- The characters, they completely nailed the redesigns, the personalities and the dynamics of every character from the original. Jill was a pleasure to see, play and hear. Jill's relationship with Carlos was done perfectly. Carlos is the overall nice guy we know he is with his quirky humour, Mikhail is still the absolute G we remember him to be and Nikolai is every bit the villain we wanted him to be.
- The gameplay is smooth for the most part, but there is some jankiness here are there.
- Another visually stunning masterpiece, every you see and can interact with looks incredible.

The Bad:

- Lack of unlockable costumes and mercenaries mode, come on Capcom. The original RE3 had a plethora of costumes to choose from, these either could've been directly translated from or expanded upon from the original. No new Jill Regina costume makes me sad :(
- Extremely linear gameplay... the original didn't have a massively expansive area to explore I will give you that, but the remake just feels like it's completely on rails. You could've put the game on a 2D flat plain and it would've felt the same to play.
- Nemesis implementation could've been better, the way he teleports around the player (and I mean literally teleporting) in order to be imposing is more annoying that it is scary. Also his lack of ability to enter stores etc and just standing outside looking at your just completely removes the suspense. I was expecting Mr X 2.0, not Mr X 0.5.
- Loads of original content was cut or shortened down, also fan service was not there at all. I was fully expecting the experience of going to the RDP building as Jill, when it didn't happen I was more than disappointed... The only part that felt fully fleshed out/expanded upon was the hospital area which was actually quite fun.
- The puzzles... wait... what puzzles? There are basically no puzzles in this game, an RE game for god's sake! And the ones that are there they just have the answers directly in front of you, or you can just face roll your keyboard/controller and solve it in about 10-15 seconds.

The Reasons:

I feel like Capcom took a leaf out of the CoD/Fifa book here and was trying to get another RE remake out in the wild while the iron was still hot from RE2. This could've been that the development time was so long for RE2 and they didn't want to risk a lull whilst they had the same amount of development time put into RE3. Or it could've been due to it's multiplayer counterpart RE:Resistance, to be perfectly honest my thoughts are that Resistance was probably meant to be it's own title but Capcom knew that it would've died on it's own, so by coupling it up with RE3 remake they guarantee not only "sales" for it but also a player base that will at the very least check it out even if they have a low retention rate afterwards.

There is no doubt that this remake was massively rushed and it saddens me greatly that that's the case, RE3 always held a strong place in my heart and I was truly excitedly for it's revival for many reasons. To ultimately be disappointed is quite a blow as such as large fan of the series... Does this mean I don't love it? No, I love it but only because I'm a fan of RE.

TLDR; The game isn't bad, but it fell well short of what it could have and should have been. I don't know the reasons for this, but I know this was a rush project and I hope they don't do the same thing for the next one. Don't mess this up Capcom, please.
