Seeing this game going from a vertical slice to a full game. By Vertical slice that means as early as you can get just to pitch the idea of your game. I knew even then it was gonna be a really good game as the core fundementals was quite solid even at such a early state.

Its good but it still has flaws.
After playing so many times in the demo that is map 1. it got really well made. But in the full game it got changed and it lost its polish a bit.

The arcade level just need some darker shade then it doesen't look so plasticly.

The nightmare level boss fight needs some more option to recharge as it makes it so slow to play otherwise.

And certain moments can feel a bit repeative and feel bit padded. so yes i would suggest playing this game in shorter bursts.

Not a fan of time limited costumes.

But what i love
The music
Creative level design.
and the amount of refrences.
And the amount of wacky ideas.

and for a studio that has done 3 horror games. *One before the angry demon company*. and now doing this its almost a home run. but i can't wait to see what they will do next. as this is a great start to trying creating something diffrently then horror games.

So personally if you want a diffrent, good experience this year. i highly recommend this game

Easiest recommendation of this year.
For 3 bucks.
You get such a refined idea that sure is RNG as heck sometimes. it still gives you that control with the items. that in a nutshell. If you can count the % of it being a live round or a blank. you can play the game in your favor. I would suggest that you go in to the game as un informed as possible. as that's how you get the most unexpected experience.

The issue is besides that story mode. is that Double or nothing mode shows the flaws of the game. as it adds more items. and diffrent scaling the higher amount of cash you go. and im just speculating. but once you are close to 1 mil the opponent has a tendency of getting alot of double damage. and it turns in to you need to win instently or you auto loose.
As the hp amount has a tendency of becoming often 2 hp that if you have double damage on. just becomes 1 shot and you win.

Besides that what i hope is that they update the store page to have exact minimum graphic card that you can use for the game as vulkan is quite vague.
And colorblind option as well just the tinest feature to allow more pepole to play it. as i would suggest the live rounds having a mark on them and so on.

Well first patch and all my annoyances got adressed.
No double damage on 2 hp moments. not creating the issue of you needing to win or loose automatically.
Color blind support.
Pill chance going from 60/40 to a 5050

This is the first dlc that got me feeling mixed.
I do want to encourage developers trying new things.
But it doesen't work all the time.

Specielly when the foundation of what the game is, doesen't flow well with the new game ideas.
And that mostly can be description of the first two levels. where you basically do counter strike surfing. but not as fine tuned.

Mix in segments where you fight enemys. and some fun boss fights that plays more fun then the onces in the base game.

Then you got two levels where it's more platforming based. that works more then the surfing levels. becuse you have more control then having to play with a system that feels half baked.

Then we got the finale of goose run that is the most arcade like. and it works but if you diden't become a fan of the goose from dlc 1 then dlc 2 won't change that aspect.

Story wise it diden't add to much to the overall storyline. as it was just what if and explained more about the limbo world that already was quite clear in the base game. and a cliff hanger ending.

But hey atleast you get to have something in the base game with some nice gun skins.

I can't recommend the dlc on the aspect of playing a dlc of well ideas that aren't refined and doesen't play well.
So you can't go in and expect the dlc to play exactly like dlc 1 or the base game.

What makes this game so great and why it has so many good glowing reviews is just the basic idea of Oh lets take this idea and then add this idea together.

And with how often combos like that might fail.

This does it so well.

Just the rougelite aspect with combat depth and abilitys. that gives this impression having this giant toybox that you think might be easy first but it gets more complicated the longer you get in to it.

The mangement aspect of managing your cult. That's a part that does many things well but at the same time can be lacking in other parts.

For example marrying a cult member is just fluff. as in it's just decoration that doesen't show depth or have any major gameplay impact. more annoyance if you don't play it correctly. but at the same time. the game doesen't really punish you unless you go so far that you don't feed your cultists or clean things up. becuse then your cult is not gonna do well.

Don't starve and cult of the lamb cross over event.
I like the idea on paper but it felt that it was bit rushed as a idea. The *survival aspect* that you unlock after doing a easter egg.
Becuse it only adds hunger and sleep. it doesen't make it more heavy requirement on other aspects. it just makes the game more micro mangement simulator.

Personally for this year i would vote for made with love as this game has had some really well made updates that takes in feedback and improves the game in many ways.

Full price or sale. you will get great amount of value regardless.

Well this is a game that is one of those that i want to do well.

But i can't,

Becuse you are paying 24.99 for a game that if you don't take your time can be beat in 4 hours.
And is mostly carried by roger clark's acting.

Why only roger clark?
Well troy baker took on the stance of being a goofy one. that reminds me too much of his role as the joker in batman orgins,

Well how's the gameplay?
You are just walking around and pressing buttons. and have sometimes QTE's that doesen't punish you if you do wrong. As they really want you to follow a certain story structure.

and if you are going outside to explore outside to the storm then you can call it tab simulator becuse everything is just dark and you have to guess what direction you are walking in.

And the biggest sin is just being in constent walking pace. As it kills all the tension. it tries being spooky but you are still just walking. even if you are inside.

The game is in short, a game carried by roger clark's voice acting, Story that's basically event horizon with just rephrasing it. and bit of a collect all the logs.

Do i recommend it at a sale?
Sure but it needs to be a good amount becuse i woulden't suggest it over 10 bucks.

I bought it basically on another sin that this game did overselling it. By having troy baker and roger clark.

Becuse come on. You knew that you would get pepole playing mostly based on that. as you haven't built a image for your studio yet.

It doesen't go near the same level as heavy rain games, or man of medan games where it's heavy amount of story that has diffrent amount of endings aswell.

I want to make things clear. Im not against shorter games. But at this price. and not having a full filling story. or depth. becuse the story feels like a cheese with alot of holes. and could have been more.

Feedback for the devs.
I mean voice acting did sell me. but for a future title. i would rather suggest that you take the money that you used for big name actors to have more pepole for the gameplay aspects for a future titles. Becuse animation wise and the world of fort solis sold me on the potential of what the studio can do.

Well this is a game that checks off alot of good aspects but it still has some issues.

But the good,
Cheap price.
Good and intresting premise,
Good art style,
And runs great aswell,

The negetive's
Lack of introduction of how the game works as it's quite lacking. So unless you have experience with puzzle games. you will be confused on how things works.

Making everything to be to x amount of moves, Just limits the diffrent amount of ways of completing it.
(Personally i would limit the amount of moves to a harder difficulty)


But for the low price. and the good aspects. It sets a good foundation on what kikmora might deliver next.

Well first DLC is out, and well DLC wise it's not god awful. But it has issues.

Even after two patches of writing this,
You will get all kinds of performence issues. As in collision. certain moments where it just becomes a flashing light show. just to name some.


The new weapons are fun but you are sorta locked to just those weapons. and pistol and shotgun and one another melee weapon. that sorta limits the playability.

If you diden't like the writing in the base game. then this won't change your mind either.

And unless you are going to scale down to easy as difficulty spiked enemy's that can kill you super fast. it feels like you are gonna hit a brick wall.

Also for some reason after completing the dlc you can't get the new weapons in to the base game either for some reason.

But at this point after playing the base game. and now this. it's personally just for me that i wanna see what they do next.
But would i buy this for full price?

Nope, Sale at most.

Well im happy that i found this game through discovery que.

Becuse the extremely low price. and well you get a fun and simple idea of it.

It just has this idea of breaking glass in diffrent way's. and it starts easy but it scales up in needing to break it in certain ways and if you screw it up then you need to re think your placement.

It has that simple enjoyment and for 2 bucks it's worth every penny.

Well this is a negetive rating on two major aspects.

The writing. And communication from mundfish over all this years of waiting.

As a founder (early backer basically) from the first preorder window of 2018 it became a game of what diden't it go through on.
And years of just nothing. and even now it's a chase over minimal aspects and even the promise of getting a key for the right platform can't be delivered either.

If you have to play it then get it on gamepass at most and not pay up to 60 or 100. Luckly i only paid 60 for my early bird backer thing that's basically the full package. What a comical world to have to be early bird backer to get the full game.

Well let's go in to writing
The well talked about aspect between P3 and charles is no joke just really dull and the strange catch phrase of crispy critters or the russian dub ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pies.
Well if you can stand star wars movies or super hero movies then you are gonna love atomic heart.

And well that ending.
I just have to say this have you played bioshock 1 and infinite.. you will see things from a mile away. They basically took certain parts and just swapped it.

But biggest credit i have to give is this
The game launched in a more playable state then most AAA/AA games of today. (Not bugless though)

The hand vaccum aspect is just oddly satisfying and fun to do when you need to loot places and houses fast.

That you can refund ability points spent to change up is a god send but at the same time it goes between 2 abilitys that can carry you. one that's middle of the road and shield that's more useless then useful.

So this is the best example of waiting for a sale and kind of dlc they will deliver on.
As they already have a trackrecord when it was gathering backers that they coulden't deliver on those promises. So who knows what they will do dlc wise.

They coulden't even deliver the mick gordon tracks for the soundtrack yet but they will update eventuelly.

and on normal without doing these mini quests of exploring these puzzle rooms it's might be 20 at most. But i took extra time and explore things bit more.

So you can call it Atomic waiting

6/10 but it has moments that leans it to a 7 from time to time.

First buyers beware review.

5 bucks to revisit old location 3 times and kill targets in a certain way.

With new kind of coins that you get from killing the targets.

And at the start of it you get to be able to buy something from a frog.
That's only limited to ice axe and a silent pistol.

So new things to spice it up. But the whole idea of it was extremely surface level. It's like it was a elevator pitch and nothing they wanted to explore deeper.

Not worth 5. and even on sale it's very questionable recommendation but i would say it's a easy pass.
