All in all I'm happy with the game as is, it's better than I expected, important milestone in the "procedural exploration" genre. Still, def not for everyone and I can totally see why it's not popular :-)
Anything specific that you really like in the game? Or just the whole package?
Actually bought it because I'm super interested in procedural engines, especially space/planetary ones, so this was a must-buy for me anyway. I'm pretty pleased with that part of it because it works fairly well. The game itself, I think it has some glaring gameplay issues plus the control system is terrible (mostly because of the console compatibility).
Content wise, space looks fantastic, planet surfaces are waaaay too gaudy, there's ♥♥♥♥ cluttered everywhere. The acid colours hurt my eyes, I wish I could just switch the stupid helmet overlay off. What I really miss is some sort of planetary map system, ruins the exploration for me cause I have no sense of where I am on a planet.
Not that it really bothers me, me having jumped ship and all.
