listen, as somebody who has loved this game for years, I don't have it in me to outright spit on it.
don't get me wrong, it's an outdated, cruel, grotesque brawl of tropes and edge, but the soundtrack, atmosphere, premise, and old scruffy man has kept me extremely attached ever since I first played it almost a decade ago.

if you find yourself interested in the story, characters, and experience in general, play it through a separate source - pretty much any English patch will be better than what's here on Steam, and you don't have to shell out money to see pre-censored scenes. there's some strange liberties taken with this version that I have trouble justifying or understanding exactly why the changes needed to be made.

Regardless, having a wonderfully obscure piece like this on a bigger platform makes it easier for newcomers to discover and appreciate it, without all the hoops previously required.
