This is a strange game.
I originally bought it, opened it, found out that half of the classes was unavailable to me before the in-game purchases, and I almost refunded the game.
Half-a-year later a person I respect recommended to me to still try it, and I did. What can I say? This is a game with a lot of disadvantages: ugly character models (especially NPC), wonky animations, pretty generic storyline... It will never be half as great as Baldur's Gate III. But at the same time its representation of D&D is really great. Last time I experienced this respect to the mechanics, was in Temple of Elemental Evil, which is almost two decades ago. I've just completed the main campaign, so I didn't touch any of the others, but I think I can recommend the game to anyone like myself, who really loves D&D classics like BG1,2, ToEE, IWD, but is might tired of replaying them for the hundredth time. Solasta might not give you an exciting story or flawless visual experience, but what it does, it does pretty good.

This is a truly terrible game. The basic tutorial takes around 1000 hours, during which time you learn a lot about your mom, memorize a couple (dozen) slavic obscene words, hate those funny goblin guys with a wheelbarrow, and completely lose your social life outside of the game (should you have any).

The game is free per se, however you'll spend MONTHS worth of your life here (I know people who spent years, and I don't mean "some part of the year", I mean literally more than 9000 hours total). And that's not counting watching the professional esports (and learning about it), should you get interested in those as I did. That also cost me a couple thousand USD in foreign trips to the tournaments.

Summing it up - definitely NOT something you might wanna get into in 2020+.
Better try chess. Just make sure those aren't "Auto Chess".
