If Ubisoft had more control of the ongoing toxicity, especially in the European region, the game would be fine.

I have not done a review in a while so bear with me. So this game is perfect if you're a 4X or a Grand Strategy fan, because this game is a mix between the two, and I highly recommend this game, and besides, it's pricetag is not the usual $60, but it's actually $40. I'm not very good at explaining games, but I'll give you a little fun story from the game.

So my science ship was surveying this system and, as it turns out, there was an industrial-age era civilization on one of the planets. This was perfect, since I already colonized a planet on a nearby system, so this planet is in my borders. These guys were the Graxnaporran civilization. I decided to send a construction ship there and build an observation post there so the my scinetists can passively study them.

Fast-forward 10 years, and I'm in the middle of a war with a neighbor who was a xenophobic fanatic spiritualist, so they basically hate me since my empire is fanatic materialist, the opposite of spiritulist. Anyway, right after a huge battle where half of my ships were destroyed, I get an event of a level 4 class asteroid headed towards the Graxnaporran planet. Normally, I would've sent my ships to destroy the asteroid, but my ships were heavily damaged and there was an enemy navy in a system right next to my home system, so I couldn't just go there and destroy it, because then the enemy would attack the capital. Basically, I watched the asteroid slowly encroach on the doomed planet, and the beautiful, jungle planet became a desolate, barren planet, and also got some rings now, like Saturn's rings.

I just watched an entire civilization disappear like that in front of my eyes and I didn't even do anything. For a few minutes, I felt bad for them. But hey, that's Stellaris, and maybe you'll get an awesome story to tell someone someday.

-start the game
-watch the opening scenes
-look at the menu
-stare at it for a few minutes
-decide to customize a few characters before playing the game
-make a character
-make more characters
-decide between having either a scar on the cheek or on the eyebrow
-spend 5 minutes deciding
-finish that character
-make 5 more characters
-look at the clock and notice that you've spent 4 hours customizing soldiers
-feel bad that didn't make a black guy and you feel like a racist so you make a black guy
-start real game
-choose your difficulty
-choose legend because why not
-first mission begins
-send all your soldiers to the wrong places
-your whole team is killed by a sectoid, 3 ADVENT soldiers and an ADVENT Officer
-try not to cry
-cry
-cry a lot

10/10 would massacre team again

This is the best strategy game I've ever played. Although very complex and not that easy to master, it's a very fun game to play. You can play as any country you want from 1444 - 1820. There are many amazing features in this game. You can have royal marriages with other countries, and then maybe the other country's king dies without an heir, and you can claim their throne and annex them. Another amazing thing about the game is that you can explore, discover, and colonize places such as the Americas. The game is not always historically accurate, since other countries can make different decisions instead of decisions that they actually made in real life. For example, the Portuguese colonized the Eastern coust of North America and Aragon annexed or conquered Castile instead of the other way around. But with different decisions it can make the game interesting, and YOU can make your own history.

I like this game, alright? I like the battles and the blood and gore. I'm still concerned with the bugs, but if you get the right mods, the game will have a better AI when they're making army formations, and AI wouldn't have a peanut for a brain ( and better reskined soldiers). I know the game wasn't ready for release, I had problems with bugs and the loading took a HECK a long time, especially waiting for other factions to finish their turn. The game itself is not that good, but with some mods, the game will be better.
