It's not going to win any awards, but if you're a fan of the Arkham Files and are willing to roll with it's low-rent gameplay, you'll have a good time. Also, the narrator is a delight!

I recommend this cautiously: it's deliberately juvenile, gross, and even sacrilegious. But it's also an incredibly deep roguelike, abounding in surprises, unexpected combos, and legions of fiends, horrors, and smiley poop monsters. This latest version is more jam-packed than ever, even if its many new additions range from interesting to head-scratchingly bizarre.

There's been a glut of Dark Souls inspired platformers, but this one takes the cake for me. Rather than slavishly adapt the combat to 2D (looking at YOU, Salt and Sanctuary), it develops its own mechanics while transposing the elegaic tone of Souls games. It's cute, yes--but it's also beautiful: depicting in miniature a fallen civilization, its mad denizens, and the tragic quest at its core.

I always liked the humor of Kingdom of Loathing, even as I couldn't get into the MMO mechanics. Thankfully, West of Loathing plays much more quickly, and features more ludicrous puns than you could shake a stick-figure at!

As Rocket League is to soccer, Golf with Friends is to, well, golf. More fun than the real sport—it ditches the downtime by having everyone shoot the same hole simultaneously. The whimsical courses also force you to take shots that will almost certainly miss, to your chagrin and everyone else’s hilarity.

Race against your buddies, sabotaging their path with bombs, force fields, ice-rays, and grappling hooks. It's slight, sure--but well worth a few bucks if you've got the friends to play it with (like me, for example!)

Soccer, with rocket-powered cars! I’m not amazing at this game, but high-level Rocket League is truly a thing to behold—cars soaring through the air, slamming balls into nets, colliding with each-other mad-max style. If only THIS was an Olympic sport.

Spawn in, race to a weapon, jump around frantically, and hope no one shoots you first. This is lunacy of Duck Game—a 2D brawler with rounds that can end in the blink of an eye.

A party game where you construct and compete in platforming levels, Ultimate Chicken Horse always results in the best kind of madness. There have been many, many good multiplayer games to come out in the past two years, but this beats them all for sheer inventiveness. Just keep in mind that while you may have designed the perfect trap for your friends—you too will have to run the gauntlet of your own making.

Dungeon-crawl to a beat! In Crypt of the Necrodancer, you time your every move to follow the rhythm of an infectious soundtrack. While the music certainly rises to the challenge, the game’s art-style and sparse but compelling story also kept luring me back.
