What is ME/CFS?

ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) is a serious, long-term neurological illness that affects energy, thinking, and the body's ability to recover after activity. There is no cure, and symptoms can vary widely—over 200 have been identified, and a person can experience 50 or more at once.

One of the common symptoms is extreme exhaustion that doesn’t improve with rest (called post-exertional malaise). Another is brain fog, which makes thinking, remembering, and processing information difficult. It can feel like mental exhaustion, confusion, or struggling to find words, making even simple conversations or decisions challenging. Even small tasks can cause a severe worsening of symptoms, making daily life unpredictable and difficult.
