Fatshark always delivers, it's just good they don't promise 30 minutes or less, since it always comes late.

Darktide's a complex, challenging 'first-person co-op game' and worth your time and dollars. In the almost year I've been playing on and off, I've made great memories with my friends and found the experience extremely rewarding. There's a real skill element to this game, and I like that it's something I can invest a little time into to learn and get genuinely good at. Though it can certainly be just some casual fun, too. Or it can be both, even simultaneously! It's gritty, it's somewhat outwardly intimidating, but Darktide will meet you where you are if you'll do it the same courtesy. For the most part, you'll get out what you put in, like (most) anything. I love this vidjum, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in the market for the kind of experience it offers, especially those already with friends to play alongside.

But it's not all been good. There's a lot that's been fixed or changed since release. There's still a lot to be fixed and be changed in the future. Something which immediately comes to mind, for example, is a need for more clarity in and easy reference to certain keywords in weapon/class/enemy descriptions. And I have no doubt, as a long time Vermintide player, that the road to the Darktide Fatshark envisions will be long. It's been long already, to be fair, as we're staring down the barrel of one year since release come this November. But Patch #13 and the Class Overhaul that came with it on October 3rd is a significant step in the right direction. And Fatshark's games only get better with time.

Darktide has great bones, extremely engaging combat and core gameplay, with a passionate, competent team behind it. Not to mention a loyal one. They're in it for the long haul, the only way they know to be, and I'm optimistic for the future of this one.

(Now hear me out, I said something honest and very nice so can we get some more abhuman classes (ratlings, beastmen guard, etc...) pretty please, Mr./Ms./Mrs. Fatshark? <3 u)
