Some would say it's the last good Warhammer RTS. DoW2 went in a different direction, and DoW3 was a watered down mess with half the factions, but the original and (especially) its expansions hold up quite well.

While certainly odd compared to every other controller out there, it was in a league of its own for configurability and, once you got used to it, comfort. Trackpads are much more precise than joysticks, so it makes things like FPS-on-the-Couch way more comfortable than it was with a bulky keyboard and mouse.

I have high hopes for a successor. Maybe we'll see one (there are patents out there for one already) or maybe we won't, but until something comparable comes around, I'll be babying the one I have left.

Extremely punishing, especially for Souls-series players who will have to unlearn a lot of muscle memory. But the payoff is that much more sweet.

Kill monster. Make it into pants and clubs. Use new pants and clubs to kill bigger monster to make better pants and clubs. Repeat until you're literally slaying dragons that control the weather.

Engrossing. I cared enough about the world going into this game that I spent hours upon hours making and remaking characters, never getting past the first act, because of all of the things that I could have done in certain situations as a different character. I finally settled on a druid, strong and smart, that would be able to keep me vested.

I shudder at the thought of the hours I am about to sink into this title when 36 hours in I've decided on a character and begun combing the landscape without even coming close to the second act or expansions. Wish me luck.
