Slow start, but it ramps up with the first expansion and from there it doesn't stop.

I suck at this game, but at least the music makes it feel like I suck with style.

Once I started focusing on the fight instead of the victory the game changed drastically.

The combat in this game is amazing. A dance of clashing swords back and forth with the enemy.
Stealth feels satisfying, being able to clear entire areas without taking any damage.
The movement is fluid, running and grappling from place to place and being able to dispatch enemies swiftly.
The tools are niche, but using the right tool at the right time does wonders.

If you have patience to get through the learning curve, the game will offer an unforgettable experience.

After all these years, it is still in top RTS games.

Edit: With the latest update mods are no longer required to make the game work properly. (1 year later, I still think that the game is a masterpiece)

I needed 15 minutes extra to install the mods, but it was totally worth it. I had no performance issues.
Story, music, combat - everything amazing.

My recommendation:
-For those which are still in doubt: install the mods, play for 2 hours and if it doesn't work you can refund.
-A controller is the best choice. However there are mods for keyboard&mouse.
-The jump from normal difficulty to hard is huge. Better start with normal, at least to see if the game works for you.
