There is so much to be said about this game, yet a lot has to remain unsaid. Outer Wilds itself is a masterclass on how to tell a story without railroading the player. Outer Wilds is THE definitive space exploration sim. Outer Wilds is THE game to play.

I recommend you go in blind. This has easily become my favorite game above all else. I wish I could tell you more about how this game has changed my life. I found purpose after playing this game. If you feel lost, take time to smell the roses and play Outer Wilds. I wish I could gush more, but that'd get spoiler-y.

This is a game with a lot of potential, but not enough variety.

Generally there is plenty of content. I can say that I got my fill when playing this game. There's a lot of fun interactions between you and cult members and plenty of quests to fulfill. However, Cult of the Lamb does have a few things I found disappointing.

My first playthrough was on hard mode. I found the combat within dungeons to be quite samey. The bosses were all great, except for the last one. I felt the build-up to it with the previous bosses made the fight a giant disappointment for me. Especially when the 3rd and 4th Bishops were way harder.

The Cult-sim is a mixed bag as well. I found it to be okay, but as I was nearing the end of the game, it felt more like a chore. A new day comes, I give a sermon, get a fetch quest, feed my cult members, and then leave. At the start I definitely found it charming, and I still love this portion. I believe with a bit more variety, this slice of the game will flourish.

All in all, this game is a fun experience in an odd spot for me, personally. Once I finished up the last boss, I have not played it again. I am really hoping that they release new content for the game, because the biggest thing for me is replayability. This game has a slight amount, but it falls just short of hitting that mark.

Do I recommend this game? Yes. I think it's an enjoyable experience and I definitely got my money's worth.
