The game consistently and repeatedly crashes to desktop on either launch or character load. I can't believe that over a year after release this game still has the same issues as it had at launch.

I had previously managed to work around this by downclocking my processor significantly, which end-users should never really have to do. When I wanted to try the new DLCs, I tried the same strategy, but kept getting those old familiar crashes. The only solution that 'worked' was setting compatibility to Windows 7, but I don't consider choppy 30 fps and multiple minutes long loads to really be playable. Not when Cyberpunk pulls 144 fps steady with psycho settings.

It absolutely baffles me that this issue is still present. Fix your game.

Reversing my review to positive now that Sony has backed off the PSN requirement.

Helldivers 2 is an excellent coop shooter, supported by one of the best studios in the industry right now.

I don't appreciate the game audio defaulting ear shatteringly loud, ignoring the volume slider whenever any cutscene plays, and constantly crashing while doing solo tutorial.

Review as of 2/10/23:
The game has a fundamental problem with not respecting the player or their time. The existing reward system is incredibly RNG dominated and the reward/crafting system "improvements" shared by FatShark on 2/9 double down on that design. Their changes compound other problems significantly, making bad design worse...

This game needs another few months in the oven, it isn't done yet. Check back in a year, maybe.
