Fun gameplay but was not expecting the distasteful choice on the first boss.
It has children as human shield.
I know it's just pixels but I won't support disturbed developers that support killing children even in pixel form.

Overstayed its mission design.

Don't get me wrong the game can be fun but after about 6 planets I'm done with their mission design.
Everything repeats; and with your deck and upgrades almost complete it just became too repetitive.

I think the game can be more fun if they just let us explore the whole planet without returning for energy refill and by having healing stations at the planet instead of heading back to your homebase. It just adds unnecessary backtracking.

The progress is too slow because of the unnecessary backtracking. The backtracking design is very mobile game oriented. Maybe on the sequel they can implement a better design, if ever they get one.

It's a hard game but not fun. I've completed my fare share of "hard" games but this one is really not that fun. It's just frustrating.

It even has a mechanic where a team member will randomly kill his/her teammate on the loading screen. That's just absurd. You can think up a winning strategy all you want but then this random team member will kill one of your teammate then poof all progress gone; run ruined. You don't even recover the items that the member is carrying.

Just skip this one if you don't like frustrating random mechanics.

A very tedious castle builder simulator. 100% would recommend.

P.S. There are boss fights needed to build a better castle.

Not for old gamers. It's too fast-paced for my liking.
This game is for the young ones with fast reflexes.

Game is hard but fun. I played on Normal but it feels like Nightmare on the Bosses. I'm looking forward to replaying the game on Inferno and Nightmare difficulty after a long break.
The story is great and it feels like an adventure. Dungeons are vastly different and there and many enemy types. Great game but I think the difficulty might not be for everyone.

Meh game. Not really good, also not really bad.

The developers made a speedrunner/no-hit-runner's game but the controls are not so tight. You can dodge in all direction but you can only attack in 4 directions which makes controlling the character feels sluggish. They also make you locked in place when attacking and you can't turn after each attack. You have to manually stop attacking before you can turn which makes controlling the character not fun. I think not locking your character in position and allowing a freeflow combo while turning will make this game more fun.

Bosses doesn't telegraph their attacks properly so dodging becomes a game of chance. Add to that the camera doesn't zoom out when fighting bosses in a large arena, so you can't tell their attack patterns if you walk far enough.

Personally I wouldn't recommend this game. There are other games more fun than this in this genre.

Came in blind, was pleasantly surprised until the last level came.
I'm not a platformer guy, in fact I don't like platformers at all. This game is not a platformer game, not up until the last level. JUMP, GLIDE and CANCEL GLIDE button should not be the same. It's the main reason why I hated platformers with glide mechanics. And this game have these moves stuck to a single button with the addition of UP button to glide which makes movement on the final level a big chore to finish. I can't even fathom why people make this the standard. Separate the GLIDE and CANCEL GLIDE button people! Also don't make the UP button turn on the GLIDE mechanic. It's a movement disaster specially when using a controller.

Rant over let's review the game. The game is a twin-stick shooter mix with an old school JRPG storytelling. This combo is great and makes the impact of the story more compelling. You feel the sense of adventure with each dialogue. The story is this game's strongest asset, it's a kid going on an adventure with his friends and you can feel their emotions with the way it is structured.

Controls are great up until the last level. Some people might have a problem with tracking your character because another character pops up when you're shooting at targets. It makes it look like you have a bigger hitbox but I think only the owl can be hit(not sure on this one). And having the shooter bigger than the owl makes dodging a little tougher in some cases because your brain is focused on the shooter and not the owl.

Bosses are fine except for some which takes away the camera from you so you often lose track of where you are.

Personally I would rate this 8/10. 9 if not for the final level.
P.S. F*ck that cannon mini-game.

A waiting game with no hotkey for fast forward.

The fast forward in this game is so stupid the developer didn't even think to put a toggle option or a hotkey on your keyboard. You have to hold your mouse on the tiniest button in the bottom screen and a slightest movement on your mouse will stop it. It's so stupid and to think they made a waiting game and this is their implementation on fast forward system. This problem have been solved in a lot of games like cities skyline and oxygen not included.

If you don't mind mindlessly holding your mouse on the tiny button sure play this game.
It is a relaxing game but my god it sure isn't relaxing for me.

Not really 100% recommended, more like 65:35 recommended.

The game feels like EA's The Sims with survival mechanics. Instead of buying the parts of the house with money, you gather the resources to build it. Each character gains level on their mostly used actions. (e.g. mining, gathering wood, researching, etc.). Each character also have different needs and relationship with members of your tribe.

The game can be tedious especially if you progress further into the research tree. Gathering resources is a big chore with so little tribe members. So far I've only progressed to 5 tribe members and I'm on the 2nd year already. 8 tribe members and I'm on my 4th year.

There's a 4 seasons mechanic which changes which crop you can farm and no farming on winter.

There's also different tribes who can extort you for resources or you can ignore them and they might attack you. I haven't progress enough to warrant attacking the other tribes so I can't say if it's any good or if it's even possible.. You can attack them if you think your members can handle them. I wouldn't recommend attacking the larger tribes though.

It is fun but tedious. Not really a game for everybody.
