Unlike other recent releases from SNK, 'Fatal Fury CotW' has no glaring technical issues stopping you from playing it online.

But should you?

If you are completely new to fighting games, then Street Fighter 6 is currently still the best game to start with. But all the stuff that makes it more 'accessible' will sooner or later start to annoy you.
Fatal Fury on the other hand leans into the opposite direction where the learning curve is more steep, but once you get it, you'll truly get it.

Unlike a bunch of it's peers 'SPRAWL' is truly designed to be a retro FPS. It does have a wallrun, slide and slow-motion ability as gimmicks, but the game never forces you to use any of this stuff to defeat the enemies. There's none of the recent adderall-design here, where you must rhythmically mash buttons to simply move at a reasonable pace or switch to "that one useless gun / ability" to be able to hurt "that one enemy type".
Just think of it as Quake with an asian cyberpunk setting, instead of running through dank and brown lovecraft dungeons. Fittingly the soundtrack is changed to Neurofunk, instead of featuring the noises coming out of Trent Reznor's basement.

In summary it's obvious that 'SPRAWL' was made by a few people who really enjoy playing retro FPS games themselves and not to trend-chase. There's no bloat here. You run through one tightly designed stage after another and blast away anything standing in your way. There's some story going on that you can entirely ignore and you have complete freedom in how you want to play. Wanna blow up the huge mechs with a shotgun, even when the voice in your ear tells you that explosives are more effective? Go right ahead. Wanna never even use the slow-motion? Sure thing.

However the other side of this coin is, that the game isn't especially long. But I'd personally take a well designed but shorter experience over some artificially stretched out slog any day. 'SPRAWL' ends when it's outta ideas and thus does not overstay it's welcome. In fact it's one of the rare occasions where after finishing a game, I immediately went for a second playthrough and collected all of the optional secrets, just cause I had that much fun with it.

Kamiya is a hack.
Trust in Mikami.

Play Vanquish instead of this.

They could have made Sonic Generations 2. Or Sonic Generations & Knuckles maybe?
But no, they'd rather double down on the EDGEhog.
At least chaos control is used in an interesting way during gameplay, instead of just being a 'get out of jail free card' for the ridiculous cutscences.

It's still worth it, as it contains an updated version of Generations. If you love to go fast, I can guarantee that you'll be going FAST in both games.

There would be a ton I could write here, but in the end the question being asked is: 'Would you recommend this game to other players?' and the answer is a resounding no. Instead I would suggest you to look at other reviews and take note of the playtime. You'll notice how a majority of the positive reviews don't have a significant amount of hours on record. Meanwhile the more the hours go up, the more bitter the description becomes. Even if a review is tagged as 'Recommended', it'll ooze with regret.
While Behaviour Interactive's attempts to branch out keep failing, this was their little game that could. So naturally by now they've mutated it into a bloated live-service nightmare, to mercilessly milk whales with. Just slap any recognizable IP in there, even if it does not fit at all and watch the sales numbers go up. While that's nothing new, it's annoying me personally, as this Skinner box is built on the ashes of a creative but flawed little 'slasher movie party-game' which I once very much enjoyed.

I'll probably keep coming back to it every once in a while, when they have one of their in-game events going on. But that's mostly out of morbid curiosity. The only chance for Behaviour to step their game up and stop squeezing every last drop out of this cash cow, is for there to finally be some competition. Sadly nobody has managed to dethrone 'Dead by Daylight', not even Behaviour themselves. Remember 'Deathgarden'? Of course you don't.

It's uncanny how on point this turns out to be. Feels like an offcial Jet Set Radio reboot.
Extremely iterative design, but I'd be a hypocrite if i wouldn't admit, that it's exactly what I wanted. You as well probably, if you still held on to the dream, that Future may some day get the HD-Port treatment.
...or maybe you never played any of the Jet Set Radio games?
Well it does not matter. Regardless if you're new to it, or one of those waiting in vain, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk DELIVERS.

This is unplayable for me, since it constantly crashes.
I've tried several different setings and checked the web for fixes, to no avail.

If you decide to buy this game, be sure to try immediately if it actually runs, due to the two weeks steam refund-policy. Cause otherwise you'll end up like me with a product in your library, which just outright does not work.

Fighting games are notoriously hard to get into but very enjoyable once you do.
If you are willing to give them a chance, they might just win you over.
KOF is a pretty unique series among this genre on top of that. Basically a niche amongst a niche.

All that said, XV is excellent. I highly recommend this game, especially if you enjoy fighters.
And if you are a complete newcomer to the genre, don't be afraid. If you are willing to learn, the community will help you out.
I'm also standing by, in case you need a sparring-partner. Just reach out.

In short: Absolutely disgraceful.

Maps full of cramped areas in a game with a focus on fast movement, because playing Doom should obviously feel like a chore. Also a great new enemy type which will take said movement options away entirely and then run away from you inside said cramped areas. It's like the designers deliberately don't want to challenge you, but outright piss you off. You'll truly feel like The Doomguy™ this time around!
That the final boss is just a bigger Marauder is a testament to that, to be honest. This DLC is the equivalent of paying money so that id can show you the middle finger.

In my opinion only the "Armored Baron" is a worthwile new enemy and the "Sentinel Hammer" a more interesting super melee weapon than the sword. All three maps look nice, but play like trash and no other new feature inside this DLC is worth a damn.
Don't buy this, it'll just sour your experience with an otherwise great game.

I helped to fund this game on Kickstarter.
Turns out it's just like the versus mode in Left 4 Dead.
Either it's a bunch of pubs who are too retarded to understand basic game mecanics and wipe out about 3-4 minutes into the match or it's a bunch of people on voip coordinating.
In case of option number 2 the killer is utterly underpowered and will never have a chance to win.
In case of option number 1 the killer is too strong and the pubs will always kick the bucket before they even accomplish objective #1.

Basically if you have a group of friends to play this with it's really entertaining. Especially if every slot is taken and the killer is also someone you know.
However if you want to play this online with random people you'll have a miserable time 99% of the time. If the lobby even fills up to begin with that is.
