This game is a Grand Strategy game where you lead anything from a minor county to the Holy Roman Empire to victory. Except there is no end-goal besides the goals you set yourself. The only way to end the game is a) lose or b) reach the end-date.

I personally love starting out as a count in Norway, and strive for the welfare of Norway or the Empire of Scandinavia. Plundering heathen England is always fun, converting Spain to the Norse faith and conquering Rome for good measure.

Every time you start the game something different happens, lead your dynasty to greatness or ruin, it's up to you.

And a word of warning, this game will steal hours of your life.
