A pretty good AA Souls-like.

The stamina recovery system is a nice addition (similar to Nioh) and makes it so you can be more aggressive in combat.

I would say the game overall is a bit on the easier side with the ability to freeze pretty much every enemy in the game with a weapon you get on the first level. They also have an assist mode to help you even further if you need it.

The story was interesting if a little hard to follow early on as most things in the game have French names (which makes sense as it takes place in France).

Some very interesting weapons and move sets.

Co-op slay the spire with cool loot and RPG features.

Highly recommend!

Highly recommend if you are a fan of the metroidvania genre.

The parry system in the game is great and makes for some intense boss fights.

The stamina system is familiar to anyone who has played a dark souls game or similar before. It is quite intense in the early game but once you have leveled up and gained some traits it becomes a lot more manageable.

Lots of weapons to try out but at the moment due to no respec or a way to trial each weapon it can be a bit of a shot in the dark to get the stats required for a weapon that you have not tried yet only to find out you don't like the way a weapon plays.

The level design and artwork for some areas is incredibly beautiful and the backgrounds make you stop and appreciate the art on display.

Had not heard of this game before I saw it in the sale. Looked very much like the Shantae which I have previously enjoyed so gave it a shot.

Having finished Monster Boy I prefer this game to the Shantae games. The controls are great and the game looks beautiful. The classic metroidvania elements are there; back tracking, new abilities, interesting boss fights and lots of secrets / puzzles.

Similar to the Shantae games you have access to different 'monster' forms to help you through the game, each with it's own distinct set of abilities. You have a lot of abilities in these forms all together so remembering which you need to use for certain puzzles can take a bit of time but is never too difficult.

Overall I would highly recommend if you are a metroidvania / platformer enthusiast that enjoys exploration, puzzles and classic side scrolling combat.

Great roguelike with persistent progression. Nice variety of classes and items.

Each run is enhanced due to the buffs, puzzles and secret rooms found in each run. Great risk and reward system with the fountain in the town.

Plays great in multiplayer, with certain classes complementing each other. Had no latency issues either even though I was playing with a very high ping.

Recommend if you are a ran of roguelikes.
