I bought this game to play Halo:CE and Halo 2, and the experience is honestly pathetic.
Why even bother putting this much work into a game with this much input lag? Imagine waiting a full second for an input to be registered in 2023...

If you want to play Halo:CE on PC, the original Gearbox Software port from 2003 (with an addon called Chimera) is a million times better than slowing your brain down to play with a second of input lag. There's obviously a skill to play with this much lag (reminds me of GoldenEye on the N64) but I'd rather play a game that is actually responsive and rewards you for quick aim and inputs.

I guess they thought this would be acceptable because that's how the original Halo:CE was on original Xbox, on original Xbox Live?
That was a totally different time, the internet and Xbox hardware were being pushed to their limits.
This isn't the case anymore, and after seeing how good the game can be on the old version, it's hard to care about this mess of a game at all.

The input lag is present in all games, single player or multiplayer.
Don't even get me started on the Co-Op input lag... Literally unplayable, not sure why they even released it?

It sucks there is still no definitively best version of Halo:CE in 2023.
While I'll admit the old PC version of Halo:CE does have issues, most are resolved by installing a 3rd party addon called Chimera (including interpolation, high res/refresh rate support, widescreen fix, custom FOV, etc).
The main improvement I can see in MCC's version is updated net code, but I don't hate myself enough to spend anymore hours searching for anything else good to say about the game.

Halo 2 is even more depressing because the old Vista version had a lot of problems, so there was never really a good PC version, but it still had less input lag than MCC.
There is a community released version of Halo 2 called Project Cartographer which has more features and is far better than any official version available on PC.
There is clearly demand for the game, why is it so hard to do decent job?

Also, ♥♥♥♥ signing into a Microsoft account to play a game I already purchased on Steam, there is no benefit to you, it's just another thing to add to the list of why attempting to play this game is a poor experience.

I really wanted to believe it's a "Polished, Super-Deluxe Package" as advertised but in my opinion it's far from that.
Be weary of buying games based on promises from developers rather than actual evidence of how the game plays, or you may end up feeling like you've been scammed like me.

I have about 50 painful hours trying to enjoy this game but the rest are idled.
I regret not refunding it when I had the chance.

I can appreciate the effort that went into this game but it's significantly worse than CS:GO.
