Shadow Warrior 2 after completing the game I decided to write my own little review because I would like to compare this one to the 2013 reboot.

I also completed the 2013 reboot and I thoroughly enjoyed that game it was fun it was silly it was a big monster frag festival with great weapons powers and a sword funny one liners and alot of humor in the dialoge.

Shadow Warrior 2 imo tried to make itself over complicated I feel it is like the developers felt the need tp innovate from the reboot.

Question is were these changes for the better? if you ask me no , the developers added this hub where you can talk to npc's and get quests and side quests from and also buy various upgrades for weapons ammunition and power upgrades and also new weapons would you so desire.

The main hub also does some story telling but the game didnt need this main hub they could have also told the story through just cutscenes after ending a level , in fact the main hub did make me feel disconnected from the actual game which was a bit of a miss for me.

The combat in this game is good the shooting is really satisfying but the whole upgrade system attached to the weapon system should have been left out.
In the 2013 reboot there was a fixed set of weapons and the further you progressed the more weapons you would find some are single weapons and some u could dual wield which was super fun.
However in SW2 they decided to implement this upgrade system and items which allow you to enhance your weapons with fire, electric, poison, ice elements and then there is another category which enables you to change that stats of your gun more damage done to this creature or gain more chi etc etc.

I think the implementation of the upgrade system is a miss why ? because at first I didnt bother with the whole upgrade system until I realised wait now I need some upgrades or I will keep on dying.
By applying the upgrades the game suddenly became super easy I didn't really have to try all that hard to make my way through the levels even the boss fights were easy.

In SW1 you sometimes had to rely on your other powers and your sword because you would run out of ammo sometimes because the SW1 the levels were huge and the hordes of monsters were massive SW2 I missed having to use my sword and also my special powers I did use the sword but not as often as in SW1 and the special powers in this game are totally useless because ALOT of enemies are immuun to your special powers so that element of gameplay which was so great in SW1 completely went to waste in SW2 which is a real shame.

Level design wise SW2 isn't up to par with the level design of SW1 I found the levels in SW2 to be more generic alot of open area's caves retro looking levels and you will visit the same levels again through out the game but with different objectives, in SW1 each level was different and unique no rehasing of the levels which they do in SW2.

This game doesn't take itself all to seriously so there was plenty of humor in SW1 and there still is plenty of humor in SW2 you have these funny conversations with kumiko and all the other characters you will meet so thats fun to listen to and ofcourse it is always great when you use the shotgun a Lu Wang shouts boom goes the boomstick :).

Even tho this game in my point of view wasn't as strong as SW1 I still had a great time playing it there is just something about butchering up these ugly b*****rds you meet in the game :).

Graphically the game looks nice not mindblowing but nothing to complain about the graphics or the performance it did run well on my pc , one thing I was disappointed about graphics wise were some of the npc's in cutscene and the lip syncing that was just horrible tbh.

So after 15 hours of playing I made it to the end and well the end lacks severly you beat a boss and you get a cutscene which ends rather strangly.
I immediatly thought ok with a end like this maybe they will release more DLC for this game or make a sequel because the ending in SW2 is S**T!!! no reward at all in the end and the story hasn't been told entirely for me, so Iam thinking more DLC or sequel.

So I will close my little review with my final thoughs if you are looking for a fps shooter and if you are curious about SW1 and SW2 first play SW2 because this game is weaker than the first when you beat SW2 then play SW1 that will give you a really oldschool FPS experience again :)

Bioshock what to say what to say I just finished the game yes I know a couple of years too late but that's besides the point.

People are always talking so highly about this game so when I started to play I was excited to find out if it was as good as people were saying, well a big disappointment there it's not as good as those nostalgia influenced people say it is.

I believe people call this a first person survival horror shooter with rpg elements ? it is a fps yes horror ? the game does have a few scary moments at the start but after like 50% of the game all you do is fight bullet sponge enemies there's nothing scary about the game.

Then story wise well listening to those little audio logs is entertaining and sometimes you find valueble information about key combinations to unlock locked rooms , but other than that it's nothing special.
The end sequence is the biggest disappointment of the entire game it is short and tells you very little and then it just puts you back on the main menu and I was like OK SERIOUSLY??? I hit continue to make sure I actually did beat the game and I did.

Graphic's wise the game still looks ok it's not a bad looking game nice colours and sometimes the world does look rather spectacular for such a old title.

And it is alot of fun the play with the plasmids set enemies on fire or electrocute them so yes the game does have it's moment and sure its a fun and lenghty game to play, but it does not live up to the hype :-).
