Touhou is finally on steam, maybe it will be enough to make me care about the series again.

It's Insurgency in WWII. The key to winning is picking Germany and selecting the machine gunner class with the MG42. Then proceed to just run up and hipfire the thing and pretend your Jin-Roh. You will kill at least 4 people before you die. Keep doing this until you win.

Really cool shmup with an emphasis on destroying bullets and using special weapons and bombs constantly instead of saving them. Your special weapon charges its levels very quickly and each level results in an extra attack being fired with higher levels clearing bullets. Your "bomb" actually does not do any damage but instead turns all the bullets into destroyable items which you can then kill to charge your special weapon more.

I have only played on easy and normal, but my understanding is that higher difficulties actually have patterns that are unavoidable, which would require your special weapon or bomb to clear the bullets. In most games that would be an issue but due to how quickly this game feeds you your special weapon you can actually due this on command with good play.

The soundtrack is really good and there is kind of a story that happens through emails and the menus outside of the gameplay. This game is one of the cooler obscure shmups on steam and one of the most fun ones I've played in a while.

A nexon shooter that isn't pay to win? It's balanced but i get a feeling that the moment the cash shop is introduced the game will become broken. Although they could just sell skins who knows. They got all the original voice actors and the sound and interface design makes the game feel like your playing an action sequence from ghost in the shell. At its core its still call of duty though with the main feature being that the character you select has a special ability that charges over time. Some are better than others but none fo them are bad. Togusa is the only one thats arguably op but i think it would be balanced with better hit detection. I think this is a fun ghost in the shell themed call of duty game but I can see it getting old 10 or 20 hours in when the weapon and character unlocks start slowing down.

I can't wait for nexon to ruin this game with a cash shop and force me to change this review. Or maybe they learned from all those other pay to win shooters that it just drives players away.

Overall a good port. Actual matches seem to run fine online when you get them but matchmaking itself is spotty. The game has some weird non gameplay issues too like the HUD being a lower resolution than the backgrounds and character models. Some people have been complaining about getting controllers and fight sticks to work but mine seems to work fine. It's Guilty Gear, it's not out of date like most other arc system works games on steam, and it runs fine. Best fighter on steam until arc system works releases Melty Blood.

Wow just wow. You can argue that I went into this game wanting to not like it and there were some things about it that were ok but ♥♥♥♥ it, this game is a ♥♥♥♥ Devil May Cry game. So what’s good? The environments are nice, the music is alright, and the combat would be passable if this was not a Devil May Cry game.

The game isn't broken but its problems stem from the fact that ultimately the game is supposed to be a Devil May Cry game and the game decided to change some things about the formula in the stupidest ways.

Almost everyone knows about the character redesigns and personality differences. It's obvious the personality stuff was toned down to make Donte seem more likeable but ultimately all the characters still suck. They just don't suck as much.

The first issue is no lock on targeting. Want to focus the enemy over there, well better hope the game wants to target that enemy with your gun or grappling hook because you can't control it. Want to target the big guy to keep him in your line of sight nope can't do that either. Hope the camera pans to keep him in focus or he is just going to run off screen where you can't see him.

The second issue is the color coded enemies which are by far one of the dumbest enemy types to deal with in the game. Basically red weapons kill red enemies. Blue weapons kill blue ones. Rebellion and your guns, which are your main weapons can't touch either of these enemy types, so you are forced into this weapon kills this enemy. While this is dumb the game just gets flat out stupid when it decides to put a blue enemy and a red enemy in the same room. Attacking the blue enemy? Well here comes red and oops the enemy you weren’t targeting just interrupted your combo. "Man I’m killing this red guy you say." Then suddenly the blue enemy steps in from off screen and interrupts your combo. The stupid thing is this could have been avoided by either, 1 having rebellion be able to damage both types or by 2 making the enemy not interrupt your combo. Want it to do no damage fine but don’t make my weapon bounce off just because an off screen enemy decided to step into my combo.

The last issue is the rating system as a whole. Devil May Cry is a style fighter, so why the ♥♥♥♥ is the rating system based purely on damage. I can just smash the giant axe on a group of enemies and jump up like 3 style levels. S, SS, and SSS rating are so common in this game that they don't mean anything. I probably got more SSS ratings in this game than in all the other Devil May Cry games I have played combined.

This game just sucks ok. If you have never played a Devil May Cry game before the problems it has are not as noticeable but ultimately this game is Devil May Cry 4 baby edition with everything toned down an made super easy to reward the player for being mildly ok at the game. Also I played on the highest difficulty it would allow me to and deaths and item usage seem to not impact your final level score at all. Maybe on higher difficulties they might but I don't care at this point. Who knows maybe on higher difficulties the game will at least be as challenging as Devil May Cry 4 on normal. Also apparently the definitive edition on PS4 at least adds lock on targeting so maybe that version might at least be functionally passable as a Devil May Cry game.

Just buy Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition. It's better.

It's Arcana Heart 3. Has some weird port issues (not very alt tab friendly and disabling my controller in network mode just to restore control on match start). But other than that it plays fine and the network mode seems to be lag free in the few matches I played. Honestly this is one of my favorite fighting games it just dies the moment the next Blazblue or Guilty Gear comes out. The mechanics are unique with the ability to fly to an opponent’s position to follow up a combo as well as having silly ♥♥♥♥ like recharging special gauges and giving you ♥♥♥♥ for free that would normally cost meter in other games. Is it silly yes, is it fun also yes. Schar is the best girl.

This game is flawed as hell but damn if I didn't have fun with it. It's a platformer with an emphasis on speed running and mild puzzle solving where you play as a girl trying to escape a virtual world called the Nexus. You can double jump, air dash, and ground pound. You can also bounce of the heads of enemies or kick them around with an air kick. You also have an emergency jump that's on a timer that allows you to jump really high every 30 seconds. You basically just race to the finish while doing all these things in order to progress.

The big flaw of the game is that sometimes the controls just feel like they don't respond. You go to bounce of the head of an enemy that is your ticket to the next platform and then suddenly you fall past it to your death. This maybe happened 1 in every 30ish enemies but it was really annoying. However, I feel as though the developer may have understood this was an issue which is why I believe the emergency jump was put in. It saves you from mistakes and keeps you going when you should have failed. The only other real issue was the final level's "boss." The boss uses different attacks at different stages but sometimes you advance into the next stage when an attack from the last stage is happening. It results in a mechanic that was easy to avoid in the last stage killing you in the next since it is not really fair for that stage.

This all seems bad but the game does so many things right. Movement is fluid and the music is amazing. The graphics are not great but there are still a few moments that look really good. I would recommend it on a sale since the game is short but for 5 dollars I would say it's worth it.
