I think this is a very ambitious game that spread very thin in all areas. It does nothing perfectly, but it has just enough of everything that keeps you going until you're tired or bored.

That being said, it has a lot of potential, and with the help of its playerbase and modders I am sure it will become better over time as with other X games. It does feel a bit empty at this point but still worth a positive vote if you're into the space genre.

I only wish the studio was bigger and had more time to polish this game (especially the overly complicated AI). If it had a good story with some urgency behind it that pushed you to help a faction of your choosing, it would for sure have been the best game of the decade in its genre.

Okay game, terrible performance!

This game is unplayable with an RTX 2080. It starts fine, but it starts stuttering 1-2 minutes later and the FPS gradually degrades down to 4-5 in 10-15 minutes. Restarting the game only repeats the cycle. I have tried all possible quality settings, turned on / off VSYNC and others to no avail.

Another thing is that it doesn't support wide screen (21:9) formats. Looking at the forums, this was requested a few years ago and we're almost in 2019! So I have been playing it in windowed mode (and the settings keep reverting this back to a crappy resolution everytime I change something).

What a shame.

Despite the ugly characters, bad indoor design and the mediocre AI and bugs, this is still a good game. I like the graphics and attention to detail in other ships and station exteriors. Play it with a Joystick for more immersion.

Looking forward to their next game.
